It just updated and I can't tell if I'm online or not, but it looks like I am. I've looked everywhere in the app and don't see it. I can't find it on the Net anywhere either.

An acquaintance of mine from high school has been looking for one of his friends for a while. While we weren't close friends, I knew both of them in high school. He has asked me twice if I know what happened to our mutual friend. Until today I didn't, but I did some looking and I found his obituary online.

Should I just leave it be and let him continue wondering what happened to him, or should I send him the obituary?

Why are Republicans voting in the House on a bill they know will fail in the Senate and that the President has already said he will veto anyway? It seems like a pointless waste of time, but they must have a good reason. Is it just so they can use it as ammunition in the next election season?

You are supposed to get married when you are young and in love, which we would have if we didn't live in the Stone Ages. Nevertheless, here we are, a gay couple of 16 years together forever, loving and hating everything about each other, not caring one iota whether our society understands us. We are finally able to get a civil union in our state, which sounds as romantic as a root canal, and it may help us legally, but it seems like a blemish on my country's history I'd sooner forget more than an event to be cherished.

I guess I know the answer already. I just wish everyone would grow up.

For that matter, can they correct for both?

Relatively inexpensive and water would be nice. International is fine, too. Just want it to be memorable and fun for everyone.

I'm renting out my furnished house and I have some beautiful homemade furniture that is really pretty in the room, but doesn't really work well if you want a TV. I want to get top dollar for my house, so I can either use mine or buy/rent furniture that will work better.

My family is chipping in to get my niece a crib for a shower gift. She's young and doesn't know that many people because she just moved to her city. I got her some other gifts, but I don't want to make my family feel bad. I just want her to have other things to open at the shower and she really will need the things I got her.

I was thinking about lying and saying they were from some women in my office, but a woman I worked with said not to and to just wrap them like any other gift.

What do you think? Any other ideas?

4 weeks ago I had two crowns put on my lower right back teeth. My dentist gave me quite a few shots in my jaw for the procedure. Ever since then my jaw has ached and has lost a bit of range of motion. He said to take Tylenol which I have been doing, but it doesn't seem to be getting better.

Now he says it's probably TMJ and I need to come in to get a $500 dental guard to sleep with. I don't grind my teeth, or at least I never have. It also doesn't hurt any more when I wake up than any other time of day and it only hurts on that side.

Has anyone experienced this or know what I should do? He told me not to stretch it out, but I don't want to permanently lose range of motion, but I also don't want to do more harm. He's been my dentist for 40 years, so I should trust him, but this doesn't make sense to me.

My kitchen appliances aren't in the best shape, but not the worst either. Good enough for me. Same deal with the carpets. Should I upgrade them before I rent out my house or leave them as they are?

The benefits to leaving them are obvious, but there are benefits to replacing them as well (people take better care of newer stuff, I can charge a bit more for rent, it doesn't tempt them into thinking I don't care about my stuff, etc.)

Three men will be traveling to Grand, Bryce, Zion, and Antelope canyons. I'm already packing for a business trip as well so I want to cut back as much as possible on luggage.

I don't have access to the iPad and I know nothing about them.

Someone else is bringing hot dogs, chips, etc. There are enough super-carnivores to counter the vegetarians and most people will be between ages 16 and 55.

Looking for something super-southwestern like a ghost town, mining town, cowboy town, etc. You get the idea.

I'm going to San Antonio and would like to see that part of the country. I want to drive and so I'm looking for things to do in several different places. I'm more interested in scenery and authentic Texas than I am in partying. My sister who is coming is probably not up for anything too strenuous, but light hiking is probably fine.

I've heard people (who have never sat through one before) say that they are hounded constantly. Is it true or do they leave you alone after the presentations?
