I've got some recordings that I'd like to transfer from my cable TV DVR (digital video recorder) to my computer. I figure that the easiest way would be to playback the video on the DVR and use some soft of video capture Hardware and software on the computer to record the playback.

I found the Product Image Dazzle DVD Recorder Plus on amazon.com ($40), which looks like it might do what I want. Somebody recommenced the Hauppauge HD PVR to me, but that looks to be overkill and too expensive (a little under $200).

Has anyone already done this?

What are some of the symptoms that I might have if there were some problems with my car's fuel injection? [1998 Mercury Grand Marquis with 40,000 miles]

A couple of months ago I really mashed my middle finger in a metal security gate, but only at the base of the finger. Finally I've reached the point where more than half of my fingernail is loose, but because my finger was at an angle, there's still a triangle of skin where the old fingernail is still attached.

Should I just keep putting a bandage over the loose fingernail so it doesn't snag on anything and wait until it's fully loose? Is there anyway to speed things up (Can I soak my finger in something, for example)? Or should I cut away the loose fingernail, except for the triangle that's still attached? Or...?

I was complaining to a friend that everything in rock was 4/4 except the occasional 3/4 power ballad. He said that he thought that there was at least one Pink Floyd song that was 5/4 or maybe it was 7/8 or 9/8, and he thought that there was also a Jethro Tull song that had had an odd time signature, but couldn't remember what songs they were. Can anyone help?

I inherited my father's 1998 Grand Marquis. He smoked a pipe, so the car had a stuffy tobacco smell to it. I sprayed all the surfaces (upholstery, ceiling and rugs) with Febreze, which helped a lot. I then sprayed all the air conditioner outlets with Febreze, which also helped.

I still occasionally get a stuffy smell from the car's air conditioner, however, especially when I change the fan setting from low to high, or change settings (like from defrost to cooling). Can people recommend what else I can do to get rid of the tobacco smell from the air conditioner?
