  • Connect windows server 2003 to internet?

I just installed windows server 2003 enterprise in a virtual pc 2007 vm. But when I start I can't connect to the internet. My host computer has internet and my windows xp and windows 7 vm's also have internet. All are assigned to obtain ip and dns information automatically. All are given the same subnet mask, dns server, dhcp server, etc and the ip addresses are in a row. What do I have to do to get on the internet?

  • How can I wipe a drive and reinstall windows without a cd?

I recently bought a new used computer. The computer came with no software. I would like to completely wipe (not format, wipe as in change every bit to 0) the drive and reinstall windows on it without a cd. I was reading that the cd files are typically located on the hard drive in a folder and that there are programs to take these files and build an installation disk. And will I need to know the serial number before I begin, can I find this somewhere?

    Thanks a lot

  • Upgrade HP DV9620US harddrive

I have a hp pavilion dv9620us. It came with 2 harddrives (a 111GB and a 103GB) and I'm looking to upgrade 1 of them (the one without the OS installed on preferably). This site http://www.bixnet.com/padvdvdvse.html appears to sell harddrives that work. I'm looking at the 200-250 one and hoping to get the 7200rpm. Is this the right drive and will I be able to do this easily. (I have experience with desktops but none with notebooks).

  • I want to connect a printer and a nas to my network?

I have a few questions, but first some background information. So I wanted to run an ethernet cord into my room to use with my computer, but I also want a NAS and a printer. Now I have seen some NAS's that come with USB ports as well and some of these explicitly say you can connect a printer but not all.

    1. Do all NAS's with USB ports support adding a printer?

I have also seen some NAS's with multiple ethernet ports.

    2. Does this mean that I can plug one into the router and the other into my computer?

    3. Will it be as if I was directly connected to the router?

Assuming the answers to both of those are yes the I should be able to buy a NAS with 2 ethernet ports and at least 1 USB port to solve all my problems.

    4.Is that assumption correct?

Other information is its a 2WIRE modem/router with 4 ethernet ports (im trying to not run 2 cords to my room) and there are 3 computers on the network.

  • How can I steal my neighbors' wi-fi?

I have a windows xp with slow dial-up. I understand that first I need to get some usb device, then install it and things just pop up? I am not even sure yet if there is a signal around my house. Can I buy the thing, test it, and then return it if I don't have any usable signals? Please explain the steps I would have to go through to set it up?

    Thaks very much
