Cost of Arsenal vs Chelsea tickets?
Hi guys,
My father and brother are coming to visit to London from abroad and I thought it would be nice to take them to a football match. We're no big fans (don't have a favourite team or anything) but occasionally enjoy a good match. Coincidently in that week Arsenal vs Chelsea will be playing. I want to buy tickets but I was advised that if I am to have any chance of getting any I should register all 3 of us as Red Members with Arsenal so I can buy at an earlier date.
I was wondering if you have any estimate of the prices? I would hate to spend £100 for the Red Membership fee then realize I can't afford the only tickets I'm probably gonna buy this year.
Thanks!
3 AnswersEnglish Football (Soccer)9 years agoAre Laskys and Dixons good brands?
Hi guys
I just moved to UK and trying to learn what are the good / reliable brands here. At the moment I'm mostly interested in electronics. I noticed that people usually buy at PcWorld or Comet, but found online Laskys and Dixons offering the same products at lower prices. Are they good brands? Have you had any trouble in the past with them, like let's say if you needed service with your products.
Any other suggestions about good electronic or general purpose stores (I do use Amazon and Tesco a lot but in this case they either didn't had in stock what I wanted or had it overpriced)?
2 AnswersOther - Electronics10 years agoWhat to choose for TV in the UK?
I'm new to UK and just settling in. Next step is to get a LED TV as I had back home. What are the preferred TV distribution channels? I see that Sky and Virgin Media are big here. To be honest I don't watch TV that much but there are some shows that I follow (House/Big Bang Theory/Game of Thrones) and occasionally rent/buy films. So it would make more sense to me to get a streaming service like LoveFilm / Netflix (i hear they'll be in uk next year) directly to my PS3, but I don't think they release these series until the whole season has ended. So, them maybe get Virgin with a TiVo?
What do you suggest?
1 AnswerOther - Television10 years agoIs the tap water drinkable in UK?
I know that in most countries the tap water is drinkable but I usually ask this when I travel somewhere because in some cities/countries it is not and you need to buy bottled water. Example: Istanbul/Turkey
In this case I'm especially interested in London and the surrounding areas.
12 AnswersOther - United Kingdom10 years agoIn what order should I read the novels in the Foundation series (by Asimov)?
I just finished the 3rd book in the Robots series by Isaac Asimov and I think they're all brilliant. The last book hints a bit at what I know to be the base for the Foundation series so I'm eager to get started with that one too. Wikipedia says that there are 7 books but the order of their writing does not correspond with the chronological order of the events in the Universe described by the books. Basically the first books in chronological order are Prelude to Foundation and Forward the Foundation but they were among the last to be written. The first book to be written is Foundation (3rd one in chronological order).
With what book should I start? In what order do you think is best to read the series?
4 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoWhat to visit in London if I have only a weekend?
Never visited London or UK, and I have the opportunity to stay in London for 1 weekend, since Friday evening to Sunday evening. What do you think I should see in this limited time? Also, can you recommend a hotel? I'll be with my wife, so maybe I we can take "romantic weekend" as a theme if it helps you be more specific.
Thanks!
5 AnswersLondon1 decade agoGames for PS3 that can be played by 2?
I recently started to play Little Big Planet 2 on PS3 with my wife and we enjoy it very very much. Actually it's among the few games she likes, because she doesn't like to play solo. I was wondering what other (good) games are out there that can be played by 2 on the same console. The only other that I own is Sports Champions which is also very nice.
1 AnswerPlayStation1 decade agoWhat is the name of this stand-up comedian?
I watched some time ago a very good stand-up comedian, but can't remember his name. He's quite old. I remember him doing some good jokes about incorrect usage of English language especially around airports. One of them was something like:
"The stewardess says: please get on the plain!"
"(swearing)I'm getting in the plain. Let Evel Knievel stay on the plain", etc.
Can you help me with this?
Thanks!
2 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoWhat is the name of this Hallmark movie?
I watched a few years ago a movie on Hallmark about a prince (a few centuries ago) and his servant that get cursed and turned into frogs. The curse would be broken only if he finds/kisses/marries his true love. He gets kissed by some random theater actress of our days and finds himself in modern New York (I think), etc..
Does someone knows how that movie was called? I enjoyed it rather a lot. It was funny :)
3 AnswersMovies1 decade agoI want to take a trip in the country side of UK?
I want to visit UK this next summer, on a 1 or 2 weeks trip by car. This is for relaxation and site-seeing.
I don't want to visit the busy cities. I'm tired of such cities. I admit that there is a lot to see in London but maybe I'll make a separate trip for this.
I don't have any special objectives in mind except Stonehenge. What else do you recommend? In general, I was fascinated by several country-side views I've seen in movies.
Thanks!
9 AnswersOther - United Kingdom1 decade agoIs "A Series of Unfortunate Events" only for children?
I watched some time ago the movie "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339291/ and now I watched it again. It seemed a wonderful movie and I liked it very much. I agree that it can be considered a movie for children, however it has many intelligent and subtle messages, as long as some darker scenes, that makes it very nice to watch for adults too.
So I wish to buy the books: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0061119067/ref=s9...
However in the description it says that they're for children and the ambition of the author was to write the "book he would have loved to read at 10 years". Wanted to ask you if the books have the same intelligent style as the movie that would make it a pleasant read for adults too, or they're really for 10 year olds.

14 AnswersOther - Europe1 decade agoWhat offline mail client can show mails as followups like GMail?
I'm interested in seeing mails as follow ups (in the same window if they're replies of replies of replies etc). Just like GMail shows mails.
From what I can tell neither Thunderbird nor Outlook can do this. Maybe a plugin for one of these two?
Thanks!
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoIn Outlook 2007, can you view mails in the same discussion as follow ups, like in GMail?
In GMail, the mails that formed a discussion, meaning there were replays and replays to those replays, were showed on the same page and you can go through all of them. Can this functionality be obtained in Outlook 2007?

Since I was a kid, I always wanted to see Aurora Boreal with my own eyes, and now that I have the possibility to, I want to ask you where is the best place to see one and what time of year?
I would like to spend a whole holiday there so North Pole is out of the question :) somewhere habitable.
I heard that Iceland is a good place but does it happen all year, or just a few days, and when is most spectacular?

Can you recommend me some good books or other methods that will help me improve my communication and team management skills?
I would appreciate any help because, even tho everything went ok till now, I constantly have the fear that I will loose this job because the lack of these skills.
