Why do some vehicles interfere with my car radio?
I like to listen to NPR on my way to work, which I understand probably broadcasts with a weaker signal than the commercial stations. Once in awhile another vehicle will get close to me (at a stop light or next to me in traffic) that either makes NPR have a lot of static or go away all together until I am no longer close to this other vehicle. Usually it is a pickup or an SUV, but that could be a coincidence because most people where I live drive trucks and SUVs. It has never been a commercial vehicle, though. I've tested this: getting closer to and then pulling away from the suspect vehicle, and I can usually figure out who is causing the problem. I just want to know WHY they are causing me this problem. Any ideas?
1 AnswerCar Audio1 decade agoDo companies have a financial incentive to deny unemployment?
I was recently fired by my company for a molehill made to look like a mountain reason and was told I would probably be denied unemployment but "we always encourage everyone to at least apply."
A woman who sat close to me was fired this week for a fabricated reason. Earlier this year the company laid a lot of people off, but this time around they seem to be looking for (and finding) reasons to fire people, instead. I know business is down and they are looking to cut costs; it was a big drive in the past year while I was there. Do they have a financial benefit for seeing that the next round of people they let go are not able to claim unemployment compensation? If it helps, this is a large corporation in Texas, so Texas laws apply.

What sort of drug would have these effects?
A friend of mine is in an abusive marriage. Her husband has turned extra "nice" of late, though. He does all of the cooking and brings her food and drinks so she doesn't have to get them for herself.
She says that sometimes, especially if he brings her something after they have argued, she passes out for at least 3 hours and wakes up with a very dry mouth. He tells her she is sick and needs him to "take care of her," but I believe he is drugging her.
At first, I suspect maybe Rohypnol (a roofie), but that drug lasts at least 8 hours and does not cause dry mouth, from what I can find. What drug could he be giving her that would only last a few hours but leave her with cotton mouth? I want to give her some advice to go to the police with, and at least warn her about what dangers she might be under if he is giving her something in particular. Any idea what drug might affect her this way?

I hear it all the time, but no one ever points one of these kids out to me.
Is there a link so I can see an Emo Kid? What is Emo Rock? Give a band name as an example.
Thanks !

My computer has Windows 2000, but a co-worker's computer has Windows XP and he has the same issue. The color & graphics look strange and the icons on my desktop are enormous. If I try to go the settings page on my Active Desktop, my computer reboots. Any advice on how I can fix this?
