  • Math - how would you calculate the number of combinations for this?

OK, so here are the parameters. There are 5 sets of numbers. Each set has its own place, meaning the first set is always only in the first set, the second is in the second, etc. The placement never changes.

The first set has four possible numbers.

The second set has two possible numbers.

The third set has 2 possible numbers

The fourth set has 3 possible numbers

and the fifth set has five possible numbers.

What I have to do is find all the possible combinations for these numbers, BUT, like I said, the sets never change - the first set of numbers always stays in the first set, second in the second, etc. Is there a formula I can plug these numbers into that will let me calculate how many possible combinations there are? Furthermore, how can I get a list of these combinations? Thanks - the best answer (that I can understand) will get 10 points. It would help if I could use the formula in an excel worksheet.

BTW, its not for school. I'm too old to be in school.

  • Anyone on here who is not doing homework...?

Anyone? Every question is either posted by someone who was too lazy to do their homework over the weekend and now they want someone to do it for them, or someone who just doesn't care about doing anything and wants someone else who already did the work to give them the answers. Is there anyone on here who is seriously interested in debating history?
