I am a Regional Manager for a national company. I have been in retail for appx. 3 decades, and have been directly involved in all aspects of running a business. I started in my mothers small neighborhood store, and since then have sold just about everything including vacumms, beer, ice cream, hot tubs, and rocks. (I owned a landscape supply company for a couple of years) I have built a very successful career, out of helping others. I believe that success is a team effort, and I will do my best to help those around me succeed.
Suggestions for first time visitor to Florence, Italy?
My wife and I will be heading to Florence at the end of the year. We will be spending New Years and the first week of January in this beautiful town.
What suggestions do you have for "off the beaten path" places to visit?
We are not avid wine drinkers, but love the culture and food. I am learning some Italian, but will not be fluent by anyone's standards.
Are there any restaurants that you recommend? Are there any locations that we "must" visit while there? Any and all suggestions are welcome!!!

What is the silliest or most ridiculous question that you have seen on YA? Don't get my question pulled by posting inappropriate material!!! I would like to see how many posts I can get to this one question, so pass it on!!
6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoAre we becoming ruder as a Society?
I recently read a study that claimed we are progressivly becoming ruder.
On a daily basis, one can drive down the freeways of LA, and see cars being cut off, resulting in verbal assault.
If you walk into any retail store, you see associates being treated rudley by a customer that feels they must talk on their cell phone about their recent bout with a nasty rash, in a voice loud enough to include a full city block.
I challange you to walk through a "big box" retailer, without finding an associate talking on a cell phone, telling rude jokes in the presence of customers, or just plain ignoring customers.
I want to know this....... Is society becoming ruder? Or are we simply becoming more advanced? One can argue that we are so "plugged in" that we are not rude, only changing the rules, to accomodate the improvements that have evolved.
Instead of a quick answer, please elaborate on why you feel the way that you do.
13 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoI need help with my planning?
I want to plan a weekend get away with my wife, and I need your help!!!! We will be going to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks, (I'm going for business, and she gets to go), and I would like to do something different.
I'm not the most creative, so I am turning to you for help. I already know the usual.... "see a show", or " go to dinner". I am looking for something truly original, and romantic.
We will arrive late Friday night, and be there through Monday afternoon. If I use your idea while there, I will give you the points when I get back. Please keep in mind that we are "budget" minded. So ideas like.... private helicopter over the grand canyon, probably won't work out.
Thanks again, and I am looking forward to hearing your ideas!!!

I just moved here, and would like to get some recommendations for restaurants. I'm looking for a wide range of suggestions, including Italian, Mexican, and Chinese. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. If I go to the restaurant and like it, I will give you 10 points.
