I had this thought when I read another question... was just curious about YOUR thoughts? It's NOT like you can 'get' anything except for more points, aside from self-satisfaction (which SHOULD be derived simply from HELPING OTHERS).

I'm having an extrodinarily ROUGH day, that I'm afraid may sound like a bad country song once you read the details and I need to remember to keep my cool; I'm a divorced mother of a 5 yr old boy and 7 yr old girl who shares weekend custody with my ex of 3 yrs, who is a self-absorbed and sometimes verbally abusive recovering (?) alcoholic. I live w/ my boyfriend of 3 yrs (who's 26, battling leukemia & chemotherapy) and work part-time in evenings & on weekends. My mom WAS, until 2 hrs ago, watching my kids 2 nights a week for 3.5 hrs and has just informed me that she is no longer able to do it- because she thinks my b/f is "mean" to my kids-- which he ISN'T, they just don't get along. My ex just informed me that, due to the fact that he got himself FIRED and has a new job, he's no longer able to pick up the kids on time, but 3 HOURS late EVERY wknd, or he'll be fired from his new job (and then I'd get NO child support at ALL).

My b/f & I are good parents & love the kids. HELP!!

Just curious! If you could include 'who' this person is/was to you, it would be appreciated because it helps explain point of reference...

I've been doing this for 2-3 days a week for a couple of weeks now. I've gotten a bit discouraged from time to time when seeing just how many points others have (in excess of 31,000!) and I just want to gage how effective my progress is. (i.e.: I'd like to ensure that I'm giving decent advice)

Just curious to hear some of your thought processes when making this decision...
