Four Aces & Four Boxes?
At a small county fair, four aces (one each of hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs) were sealed inside of four identical boxes. The fair operator let people make a guess as to which card was in which box and charged $10 per guess. Anyone who guessed exactly three of the cards correctly would win an equal share of the total.
By the end of the fair, 125 people had made guesses. When the boxes were opened, it turned out that 44 people had guessed none of the cards correctly, 40 people guessed only one card correctly and 31 people had guessed two cards correctly.
Assuming no one cheated in any way (included the operator of the fair), how many win and how much do each of them get?
10 AnswersJokes & Riddles2 decades agoTen trees in an orchard?
A farmer wants to plant an apple orchard. Ideally, he wants to plant the apple trees so there are 5 rows with 4 trees in each row. When he went to buy the trees, he found that the price had doubled, so he could only afford half the trees that he wanted (10 instead of 20). Can he still create an orchard like he wants? If so, how?
Hint. He can. Each tree will be in exactly two rows.
Further hint. The farmer can not create cuttings of the trees, steal 10 more trees, plant seeds or any other "cute" answer. 10 trees arranged in 5 rows of 4. That's it.

I was tired of seeing the same riddles over and over again, so I thought I would make up a new one. It's my first attempt, so it may be too easy.
A man buys apples from a farmer for $10 a dozen. He sells them to a grocer for $8 a dozen. He figures that if he can buy and sell enough apples at these prices that he will be a millionaire in no time at all. Is this possible and if so, how?
