  • What should non-celebs plan to wear to Award Shows?

I JUST bought tickets to this weekend's Academy of Country Music Award show in Las Vegas. We're going to be there for a wedding - and when I started looking to see the 'things to do" choices I came across this! I'm sooo excited, as I am a BIG country music fan.

Anyway....now I'm wondering "What to Wear"? I'm thinking a suit for hubby and a cocktail dress for me. But...is that too much...too little? I don't know for sure. The tickets say it starts at 5:00...but, should we get there early for the red carpet show. Or, will the thousands of folks without tickets be there for that.

    Help!

  • Rear Window Art - What's it called, Where do you get it?

I'm constantly seeing vans and SUV's mostly displaying little "sketches" in the rear window - depicting each member of the family (sometimes even the dog and cat). What are those called, and where do they get them. I thought it might be fun to get those for my married daughters and their families.

Hi There... We're going to Mendocino this weekend for our anniversary and need some ideas. We've already booked "The Hill House Inn" to stay. But, we're looking for a really nice restaurant for dinner Saturday night. Maybe with some nice atmosphere and view of the ocean. Any ideas?

  • Need help picking songs to sing at karaoke!?

I sing pretty well, and enjoy singing at karaoke bars whenever I get the chance. I tend to choose country songs, and love to sing ballads. Every one in awhile, the karaoke bar is too "fast" for the songs I have mastered. I need to add a few "fast ones" (NON COUNTRY) to liven things up. Any ideas? My concern is that most fast songs are too high pitched.

My voice is fairly low - Just to give you an example - some of the songs I sing really well are "Crazy", "Walkin' After Midnight", "That's What I Like About You", "All I Ever Need is You", "She's In Love with the Boy"...etc.

  • Seattle Area Vacation Ideas?

Hi There! My hubby and I will be in Seattle in mid September right after our Alaskan cruise. We've visited Seattle on many occasions in recent years. So, Pikes Marketplace, Space Needle...etc. have been done and re-done.

I'm thinking that maybe there are some "vacation spots" in the area. Maybe an hour or so away from Seattle that we could head for. For example: I live near SF...and there are lots of things to do in SF...but a couple hours South and your in Carmel...or an hour North and your in Napa Valley.

    So...you Seattle-ites. Any ideas?

  • Need Personalized Pens and Pencils?

I've been searching the web...and I can't find a place that offers personalized pens and pencils in small quantities. I'd like to order a dozen of each for my grandchildren. All I can find are the places to order 100+ each. Yikes!

I've tried Oriental Trading company. The only thing they have is pencils. So, if worse comes to worse I'll just get that. Any ideas?

  • New Citibank Commerical - Who is the guy?

Okay - my hubby and I have been arguing over "who's right"....and we need some help.

There is a new Citibank commerical on TV right now...it's only been on for about a week or so. It's got two guys on it - and the main character has a HEAVY Jewish NY accent. He has a big nose and he looks to be 60-70 years old or more. He's obviously in heavy makeup. My hubby thinks he is Robin Williams with a fake nose. I disagree

Anyone know for sure? OR - is there a website that can answer these kinds of questions about commericals. We get into these kind of discussions all the time.

  • Spring Training Tickets - When....From Who...?

I'm interested in getting tickets - for the first time - for the Giant's 2007 Spring Training in Scottsdale. These are going to be a BIG birthday gift for my hubby (his birthday is in January...but I like to plan in advance) When do they go on sale?

Also - I went to their web site, and looked at their Spring Training Packages. They seem pretty expensive - approx $700 per person for the hotel, car, tickets, etc for just two days. Have any of you ever attended Spring Training? Are the packages worth it..or should I just get the tickets and book everything myself?

  • Need new Deed - How do we do this?

Several years ago my hubby and I decided to refinance our house. At the time I had been recently laid off from my job (I'm working now) and our broker discovered that we would get a better re-fi if the loan was only in my hubby's name. But, that meant that my name would be removed from the deed. She said that later, I could get a new deed made up with my name back on.

This has bugged me for a long time now - cause technically I don't own my house. The worse part about it is that 100% of the down payment from for house (300K) came from the sale of my old house that I owned before I even met my hubby (we've been married 5 years now)

The question - where/how do we get the deed fixed to add me back on? I can't go back to the original broker, she's no longer in the area. Oh - and we don't want to re-fi again cause our current loan rate is FAR lower than anything we can get right now.

  • Trying to locate a book - "Sunshine" Help!?

I'm trying to locate a book - I don't remember the name of the author. It's called "Sunshine" and they made a movie from it with the same name in 1973.

It's about a young "hippy" mother who discovers she has terminal cancer. So, she starts taping a journal for her daughter to remember her by. It's my two eldest daughters' favorite book - and they've both mentioned that they'd love to re-read it again. I thought I'd get it ahead of time for a Christmas gift.

I've been "googling" all afternoon. I can't find the book OR the video.

I'm really seriously considering buying a 2006 Scion in the very near future. I see that it has some sort of Mp3 capability. What is this exactly?

  • Looking for a Low Calorie Recipe for Asian Salad Dressing?

I'm looking for a good receipe for Sesame Ginger Salad Dressing - I've tried several bottled varieties, and it can't match up to the tasty dressing they have at our company cafeteria. But...being on Weight Watchers...the 100+ calories are just too much.

    Anyone?

  • What kind of new car should I get - for 2007?

I've decided to start researching what kind of new car I should get. Currently, I have a red 2000 Mustang coupe. I'd like something fairly sporty, that seats 4. Also, I'd really like a car with a sunroof (but not a convertable). I'd prefer to keep the cost to under $24K. Any ideas?
