It seems to me that society and the media places too much emphasis on celebrities; i.e. who is dating who, who is breaking up, what one star said about another, who had a baby, who just adopted one, who is in rehab, who had an argument in a restaurant, who made a complete horse's rear end out of themsalves during an interview, etc. I love movies and I respect the people who make them, including actors, directors, etc. but I am frankly just fed up with all the reporting that goes on. It's as if our society cannot function unless we know every single detail about celebrities' lives. I just don't care anymore. Just act, sing, and leave it at that. I don't need to know, nor do I even want to know, everything about their lives. Everytime some "star" does something outrageous, or make a comment, the media pounces on them and reports it. I think we've gorged enough on these "news" stories. Let the celebs alone and report about more important things.

Yes, I do have a heart, and yes, I do realize her son was killed in action, and that is a tragedy. However it seems to me that the woman uses his death and deliberately breaks the law to stay in the limelight. Does she really think her protests will change anything?

If you were given the gift of time travel, and you could go back to any time period in the past and stay for one week, what period would it be and why?
