What were the places on Ghost Hunters live Halloween Show?
I ended up falling asleep a little early and missed the #2 and #1 scariest places that Ghost Hunters have investigated and that were shown on their live top five Halloween countdown. Can anyone tell me what they were? I know #4 was the lighthouse and #3 was the Bird Cage.
Thanks!!
2 AnswersReality Television1 decade agoHow to soften hands or quicken response time.?
I am working with a trainer for my mare. We just started riding her, she's 7 now, and he's doing an excellent job. She has about 1.5 months of real training on her and now my trainer is working with me and showing me his techniques and what to work on with her. Other times I will just watch him schooling her to observe. I understand what he's saying, with regards to the pull and release (or ask and reward), but my response time just seems to be really slow and sometimes (when I'm riding) I can't feel her giving her head when I'm asking her to give. From the ground he's saying that I need to release quicker when she gives. I don't know what my problem is, but I'm not getting it quick enough. He is trying different ways to show me, and I get what he is telling me, but it's not showing through my actions. If any of this makes sense? What can I do to help myself with quickening my reaction time to her giving/my release and me feeling more?
8 AnswersHorses1 decade agoMy horse likes my trainer better then me.?
I am getting really frusterated and I know that is part of the problem. I have a 7 year old paint mare that is finally getting broke. This is her 3rd trainer and each has contributed something to the training and she is finally being ridden. My problem is she feeds off energy mega time. No matter how hard I try to be confident and jump right in with whatever I'm told to do or am trying to do, something happens and I end up not getting it right. She's sweet with me while I brush her and walk her and even when I pick her stall she likes to watch and sniff everything. My two major issues are lunging her and picking her back feet. With the feet, this poor mare had her first trim when she was 4 and she had to be sedated. We've been working and that's ok, it's just when I do it that she acts up. BUT, all that work with her besides me are men and stronger. She'll start kicking and I just can't hold on so she knows she can just start kicking and I have to stop. I've tried doing ....
11 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWhat makes someone a cowgirl or cowboy?
I'm wondering what everyone in the horse arena (so to speak) thinks makes someone a "real" cowboy or cowgirl. Is it someone that owns horses, rides them, is a rancher that actually works with cows, someone that shows horses, or merely someone that has any kind of horse experience? I'm just wondering because there's so much cowgirl/cowboy apparel out there and I hate it when yuppies who know nothing about or have nothing to do with country/western life wears it. What is everyone else's opinion on this matter? I have been riding in some form or another, whether it be horse camp or lessons or owning horses since I was about 8 or 9 and I'm now 29. I've actually owned my horses for about 6 years now, but before that, I rode English, took lessons and showed, actually placing in my first show. So, does that make me a cowgirl? Or would I have to show in something like cutting or team penning or work on a ranch? I'm just curious what everyone's opininion is :) Thanks
21 AnswersHorses1 decade agoHow do you give your condolences to someone that has a miscarriage.?
My cousin, that I am very close to just told me that she miscarried. I didn't want ask too many questions right away because I could tell she was still upset about it even though she said that it was ok and probably was for the best. She said they are monitoring her hormones to see when she can try again, but I would like to know what to say if and when it comes up again. I would like to ask questions like why do they think it happened, if they think there will be chance of it happening again, etc. She said it happened because the fetus wasn't growing right or something and she was actually supposed to have a dnr or something where they basically abort the pregnancy and make sure all the remains are removed, but she ended up miscarrying on her own. But I don't want to overstep boundaries or anything. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thanks!
13 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat are the main reasons to shoe a horse?
I am just curious, but what are the main reasons why you would shoe your horse. All three of our horses are barefoot, but we live in an area where there is minimal gravel and such, which is why I would think shoeing would be necessary. But other people in the barn shoe their horses. Would it be because of showing? What are the main reasons why people shoe horses and is it really necessary? I always heard barefoot is the best if possible. But I'm still curious.
20 AnswersHorses1 decade agoMy horse keeps stopping when I try to move her foward. What else can I try?
I have an 18 year old QH mare. We got her from a rescue in March and she's been great, until recently. When we got her she was slightly underweight and we were worked on building her up weight and strengthening by riding her lightly around the race track. Well, that barn turned into a nightmare and we moved to a new wonderful barn where she's getting fed properly and has gained enough weight to be where she should be. Now, she's acting up when I'm riding her. I haven't done anything different than I had been. We thought maybe since she's gained weight the saddle might fit different so we changed saddles to a full quarter horse bars, no luck. I was thinking maybe it's time for her teeth to be floated and the snaffle was pinching, so I tried a rope halter, which I have also rode her with before, no luck. She'll start with walking and as soon as I squeeze with my legs and cluck (our cue for her to trot) she stops on a dime and pins her ears back and will not budge. I can........
19 AnswersHorses1 decade agoTo Move or not to move.?
My husband and I want to move to from OH to Las Vegas for a couple of reasons. Myself and my two small sons have really bad allergies and the air in OH is horrible for that but out west it is really dry and allergies are not as bad. Also, OH has winter about 7 or so months out of the year and we have horses and it is difficult to ride in the winter because so many people want to use the indoor arena where we board. Anyhow, the only problem is that it is so expensive to move and we have a hard time saving money. Then there is finding jobs. We would also have to look at houses because we have 3 dogs, so an apt. is out of the questions as is a mobile home park. We are willing to board the horses though. How do you decide to make the expense worth it and make the move rather than just move in our same area and endure the allergies and winters? We really want to move but just don't know about the cost and all that. How do you decide?
3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoGuy got in an accident with vehicle he bought from us before he changed the title over. Are we screwed?
The guy paid for the vehicle on July1 and we signed over the title, but it wasn't notarized. The next day he got in an accident and told the police that we let him borrow it. Apparently the guy was only 17 ( he looked and talked like he was about 30, talking about child support and he had a full beard and moustache) and he didn't have a license. When the ins. co. for the people that he hit called us, my husband told the adjuster that the guy bought it from us before the adjuster told us it was in an accident and that the guy said he borrowed it from us. What the heck can we do? We didn't have ins. on it because we hadn't drove it in over a year, and we took our licence plates off. The guy didn't have a license either. Are we super screwed?
9 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade agoHow do you nicely terminate services with your childcare provider? Going to another but don't want to offend.
Our sitter was nice, but just not doing the best job. She also neglected to tell us when we hired her that they were already planning on moving out of the area. Very disappointed, but already found a new sitter.
