1 AnswerOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoWhy Can't We?
Why can't we answer a question with pride and dignity?
Why are we quick to answer a question based on an Avatar? When we do not know who is behind the Avatar. Yes, we should not ask racist question, but in the same breath there are a lot of questions that are thought provoking, and people really want to know. Not just in this topic area, but in most of the topic areas on YA. This tool was not here years ago to spread truth and knowledge across the world with ease.
So remember that the Question you Ask and the Answers you give will stay on the internet for years to come.
Try it, do a search for a question you asked, or an answer you gave to a question. Do not be suprised if it comes up on a search. It looks and feel different with all the hits falling one after another. Think about looking at it several years from now. Be careful what you say.
So lets come correct, no matter what the Avatar look like.
6 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhat do you think about the "Salad Bowl" Theory?
Just like the "Melting Pot". But.
The Salad Bowl is when, No matter how much you mix the salad, or how much dressing you put on the salad, a tomato is a tomato, lettuce is still lettuce.
They do not lose there cultural identity, no matter how much you mix it up.
8 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoAm I missing something, or are things changing?
Went on a job interview which required interviewing three times. On the third Interview I was asked " In your opinion what is Diversity" I then asked, "what are you talking about work, culture, etc.." They just said Diversity. I did not feel good about the question or the enviroment, so I left the interview. (did not get the job).
What was they talking about? Was this a racist question? Did I over react?
The whole situation did not feel good.
Is the work place changing, are they trying to understand Diversity and fix it. I do not have a clue maybe you do.
