Grrraarrr

Other than her, I have no family so it is hard to tolerate (my parents are gone). On a regular basis, I am constantly told, "I should have married somebody better than you," "I don't love you anymore and don't know if I ever did," and "I would be happier without you." I promised that I would support her as long as she wanted for the rest of my days, so I am bound by that promise. She won't leave me, and I cannot break my promise by leaving her, other than artificially bringing about the end of my time, I can think of no other options. To be honest, I feel terribly lonely now and cannot see the merit if life if you cannot share it with somebody who appreciates your efforts. I'm 33 now, so I have time, but really don't want it anymore.

The Sims has gained an incredible following among its fans, yet its goals are unquantifiable. If you're a fan of The Sims, what makes it so enjoyable for you? Clearly, there's some charm there and I'm curious as to what people like about it. I've enjoyed other games with more casual playstyles as well, and I know why I've enjoyed them, but it would be nice to know what others think about this style of game.
