Not Your Average Bat Taz

Ok, there's a girl I like and she's one of my best friends. I know she liked me at one time, but at the time I had recently broken up with my girlfriend and didn't want a rebound.

Well, now she's with some other guy. The guy, from what I know of him, is a jackass, and I don't know how well this is going to go. Should they break up, she may very well decide she wants me again. And I would LOVE that.

The problem is I'm scared I'll be a rebound. I mean, I treasure our friendship, and I don't want to ruin it by getting into a doomed relationship. I think it could work, considering we both have liked each other, and we are really good friends. But I'm afraid it may just flop.

The thing is that I lost out on her last time because I was scared of a rebound. So I'm afraid if I wait a little bit this time for the same reason, I'll lose her again. So if she breaks up, should I try right away or wait until she calms down from the breakup? I'm very concerned about this.

Seriously. I am always very concerned with other people, and I oftentimes put their needs before my own. I know this is nice, and people appreciate it, but am I doing too much? Is it possible to be too nice for my own good?

Am I the only Yeshiva Univerity person here? That's YC/Stern/SSSB. Anyone?

If the girl I like is friends with some other guy-- and I know they're not going out, they're just friends-- is it normal for me to be jealous or even suspicious?

I love Sum 41. Everyone I turn to likes them also, but no one seems to be such a big fan, like I am. And they don't get much radio time. Any other hardcore Sum 41 fans or am I alone on this one?

When is it normal for a Jewish religious boy to start dating? I have some friends who sarted dating at 18, and others who say I should wait until I'm ready to look to get married. I'm not ready for marriage yet, but I think it's normal to date regardless... just looking for a few opinions, can someone help me out? Thanks.

I like this girl. She acts like she likes me, but when I spoke to her about going out, she told me she just doesn't think she's ready to be in a full-fledged relationship. Yet the signals continue, she still talks to me all the time, and she seems pretty sincere about it. But I'm still not sure, and I think she may just not like me in that way, and is too afraid to say it. What do you think, and what should I do?
