  • Looking to Find Family Members?

Really this a long shot. But my dad has asked me to try and find members of his family to complete his family tree and also have a reunion.

The family name is ABRAHAMS. My dad's name is John. His father's name was Mark (Markie). Dad think's his mother was Irish and called Mary but he never knew her. They lived in Wrentham Avenue, Kensal Rise, London NW until the early 1980s.

My dad was married to my Mum, Beryl until 1967 when they divorced. He married Beryl on 9th December 1951. I (Corinne) was born on 25th January 1953, my sister Jayne was born on 5th April 1967.

He then remarried Joan Broughton and had two sons - Robert Abrahams and Tony Abrahams.

Aunt Ginny had a hair lip. There was a Cousin Evelyn and she was married to an Uncle Lou. They were all from East London. My dad can't remember their surnames.

If you recognise the names or you are the above people can give us a lead, then please contact my email which is greyparrot123@gmail.com.

  • Fear of Heights?

I have a weird fear of heights. Now I don't mind going up in a plane, and I used to live on the 14th floor of a tower block, I have even been, 16000+ up a mountain in a light railway in Colorado, so why is it I find stairs a problem - looking down them I feel dizzy if a long flight of them,, sitting upstairs in stadiums or theatres and riding Dockland Light Railway in London so damn difficult. I told you I had a weird and irrational fear, so how can I get rid of it?

  • Risque Parrot Joke?

A woman had a female parrot which kept saying: 'Hello, I am very horny. Do you want to have some fun?'

She was frantic, so she went to her Pastor to find a solution to the problem. The Pastor said, 'Bring your bird to my house. I have two male parrots who read the bible and pray all the time. They will be a good influence on her.'

So, the woman brought the parrot to his house and put her parrot into the cage with the two male birds. She squawked, 'Hello, I am very horny. Do you want to have some fun?' One male parrot looked at the other one and said, 'Put away the Bible, Fred, our prayers have been answered.'

  • Mobility Transport.?

I live in the UK and own a Pride 4 wheel Scooter, that runs 8 miles an hour. I am looking for a charger to charge the batteries in the United States with 110 voltage.

I have just got back from Los Angeles and was disappointed that I couldn't use the scooter over there as the batteries would not charge, I tried two transformers and a voltage converter and nothing happened. Obviously, it was very distressing not be able to get around, and therefore I came back early..I am thinking about spending some time in the United States and obviously I need to get right type of charger. If you know how much they are to buy please tell me, and maybe also advise where I might be able to obtain this piece of kit in the UK, or any alternative suggestions you might have, as you can imagine, I had a very frustrating time.

There's no point in me hiring a scooter in the USA as its for long term use and the deposit one has to put down is crippling, just in case you were wondering why I didn't hire one!

  • A joke to make you groan!?

This bloke was in hospital about to have an operation.

After the op, the patient wakes up in recovery and the doctor says: "Mr Smith, Mr Smith, I have some bad news and some good news for you".

"Oh yeah, what is it", said Mr Smith.

"Well, the bad news is that we've had to take both your legs off"

    "Oh my", said Mr Smith.

"But the good news is..." said the doctor., "...we've managed to sell your slippers!"

  • World Cup Memories from 1966! Let's have your stories. Here's mine!?

England v Germany World Cup Final was held the day before we went on holiday to Italy by coach.

The next day, we all boarded the coach and set off on our trip, singing all the songs of the time and celebrating the fact that we won. I was 14 at the time and it was great.

On the cross channel ferry to Belgium everyone was so happy, and as we travelled through the various countries, we got even happier still.

Then we reached the Germany Border, and back then passports were still checked, so this uniformed stern German got on board the coach. Everybody started sniggling and you could see this guard getting more and more annoyed.

Eventually, he plucked up the courage to ask "Do you have anything to declare?", when my dad took it upon himself to reply "Only the World Cup, mate"! The whole coach fell about laughing and cheering. I have never seen a border guard exit so quickly especially as his piece de resistance was to fall down the coach steps.

My dad became a hero that day!
