  • What is a good tapas restaurant in Cincinnati?

Bonus points if they have a good sangria! Also a fun environment would be preferred. And closer into the city is better than out in the suburbs. What's your recommendation?

  • Importing alcohol as "household goods" to the US from EU?

I have been living in Germany and have accumulated quite a collection of liqueur and wine. I know if I'm just traveling to the US there is a rather small limit on the amount of alcohol that I'm allowed to bring with me. However, I would think that as this is part of what any household would have, that maybe there is a different guideline for sending the alcohol as part of my shipment of household goods? Will I be able to bring this all back duty free? (Just like I can with all my furniture/ etc.) If not, what are the duty charges and above what value of merchandise or volumes of alcohol do those kick in for an international relocation? Can I even send these as part of my shipment (which will go by boat.) Thanks!

  • Germans Working with Americans?

I work for an American company in Germany. Our office here is

probably 80% German, 10% American, and 10% a mix of other

nationalities. We work a lot also with our main office in the US.

I've been asked to put together a presentation for my colleagues

with tips/ tricks/ advice for working with Americans.

How are Americans different from Germans when it comes to working

    styles?

Are there misunderstandings that could get us in trouble?

Things we say? Ways we work? Ways we socialize? Different ways of

    building relationships?

Even words and phrases that are thrown around that might sound

really odd to a non native speaker.

If you have any insights, I'd love if you can share them with me.

(Or any resources online or books you know of!) I'd be happy in the

end to share my presentation with anyone else who might want to

share such a thing at work.

Looking for both perspectives, for the Americans working with Germans as well as the Germans working with Americans.

  • How do I use a mini SD card in my SEPIA card reader?

I have pictures from my cell phone on a mini SD card. I have a SEPIA SPA-550 Multicard Reader which accepts CF MD, MS MS PRO, MS Duo MS PRO Duo, SD MMC, mini SD, SM, and xD cards. However, there are only 4 slots on it for cards. All are bigger than my mini SD card. I am not sure how/ where to insert it. There is a spot that looks a little narrower, but I'm not sure about it. I don't want to accidentally break my mini SD card or get it stuck in the reader. I can't find the isntructions that came with the card reader. Anyone know?

  • Is it safe for Americans to travel to Paris this weekend?

Please only answer if you are actually in Paris now or have talked with someone who is. I read the travel bulletin on the US gov't travel page. I am living in Frankfurt, Germany now and my boyfriend will be visiting me this weekend. We were thinking of driving over to Paris for 2 nights but I've been seeing a lot on the news about the protests about the young workers rights. How crazy are things there currently? Does it seem violent? Do you think that the transportation workers will strike or the tourist attractions will be shut down or worst case that cars will be flipped or set on fire? Also, I really don't want to not be able to go out and walk along the river at night, is this safe with the current state of things?

  • Where do I find instructions in English for getting online with T-Com in Germany?

Everything I find is in German and I can't read German. I can't figure out how to get online at home. I have my modem and the green lights for "power" "DSL" and "LAN" are on. No green light for "Online". I follow through the screens in German to enter all my info but then when I press "Internet verbinden" (I think...) I still can't get onto websites. The orange light where I plug the CAT5 cable into my laptop is flashing like it does when I am online. How do I get online or where can I find answers to this problem in English?
