I no longer want to be associated with Answers, a group of hypocrites and liars who say they investigate reported abuse but, in fact, do not!!
Has anyone besides me noticed that the "History" category has become a site for homework?
I love to use the "History" section to answer questions and to seek knowledge about history. However, lately it seems as though it has become a site where teenagers want people to do their homework for them. By doing so, I think we aid and abet cheating. And don't give me the the "I only want to help" response, because these guys do not want help!! They want you to do their research and work. Anyone as annoyed as I am with this development on a site being so misused??
6 AnswersHistory1 decade agoIs NRB a mutant or a coward? Maybe both? Attacks and then runs. Coward for sure, but a mutant too?
NRB is a member who likes to send attacking e-mails about a response, but then he/she runs and hides by not allowing a response to the e-mail and by deleting his/her question. I wonder who this coward is? Maybe some kind of mutant? Certainly a person who cannot take ctriticism or disagreement.
1 AnswerBaseball1 decade agoAnyone familiar with Barrytown, NY in 1959?
Here was the novitiate for the teaching brothers of St. John the Baptist de la Salle who spent a year at Barrytown before going to Troy, NY, after having taken vows. I was in the novitiate then and was known as Brother Christopher Clemens.
1 AnswerTeaching1 decade agoWasn't Ed Brooke once Governor of Massachusetts?
I keep hearing on the news that Duval Patrick, newly elected governor of Massachusetts, is the first black governor of that state and the second black governor elected in the U.S. However, if I remember correctly, Ed Brooke was governor of Massachusetts years ago, and he was black. He also was elected to the Senate from Massachusetts. Has my memory failed me??
1 AnswerElections1 decade agoWhat ever happens to "Tiebreakers"? Are the ties ever broken and points awarded? If so, how?
I understand Ask, Answer, Discover, but I still cannot figure out what ever happens to those answers that end up as tiebreakers after voting. Are the ties ever broken and points awarded, or are they just in a dead file as tiebreakers?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhy are so many answers called "tiebreaker" when there is a clear winner?
I have noticed today in reviewing questions that I have answered that several have been called "tiebreaker" when there was clearly a winning answer. I found at least four. What's going on?
3 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhen and to whom did Jonathan Papelbon of the Red Sox record his one loss this year?
I noticed he now has a 2-1 won/ loss record with 23 saves. I am an avid Red Sox fan, and I cannot remember his ever losing a game this year. Can anyone tell me the circumstances and the team that beat him?
3 AnswersBaseball2 decades agoWhat's going on? I got no credit for best answers AND they are not listed under my Best Answers .?
Recently I have had several "Best Answers" show up as "resolved." I did not receive 10 points for these answers even though they were "best answers." Also, they do not appear on my list of best answers, nor has my total of best answers changed by adding those. Anyone know why this is happening? Any way I can contact Yahoo Answers to find out?
6 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoElvis, on the back of one of his 45's sang a song "You are the One." Correct title?? Can you help me find it?
I think it was on the back of "Heartbreak Hotel," but I am not sure. Can anyone help identify the song (I THINK it was "You are the One") and tell me where I could get it? It was a slow ballad, and as a teenager, it was my favorite song.

3 AnswersMusic2 decades agoQ Where to locate the movie "The Gun" set in Russia with the uprising of the Cossacks. Saw it over 30years ago
Set in Russia with the uprising of the Cossacks. Costume and period drama as well. I cannot remember who starred in it, but the aristocratic male and female leads were middle aged and as actors were well known. The movie was exciting and gave great panomarmic views of the Steppes and other areas of Russia. Hope someone can give me more details about the movie and possibly tell me where I can purchase it. Thanks.
