Can anyone tell me the UK law ruling on Bid contracts.

When submitting a Bid, which includes a Bid to offer Good or services fat a specific price and time, but also terms and condtions, are these binding and form part of the main contract.

For example if in the Bid conditions an Advanced Payment Guarantee and Performance Guarantee etc is required if the Bid is accepted and that the Customer also includes in the Bid pack pre-defined wording. Would that under contract law that this would an obligation by the successfull bidder to comply and no further oppurtunity to negotiate the terms of the Guarantee are permitted?

I have seen formula published, by mathematicians, but they are using mathemetical symbols, which I am not that familiar with.
