Jimmy corrigan has a football shaped head with similar hair, overalls. the only slight difference is that jimmy corrigan fears his mother and wants to escape her. And by the way.. Corrigan was first published in 1991.

David Hayter is writing the screenplay (he wrote x-men and X2). I don't know if its just me, but Alan moores writing doesn't tend to translate well to film. His writing is specifically structured so it exclusively works in the comics medium. And if you don't think watchmen is a masterpeice, tell that to time magazine. They had on their list of the 20 best NOVELS of the twentieth century.

I think seven samurai is the best for the combination of Kurosawa's masterfull directing and writing and the excellent performances in the film.
