Collection Company didn't validate w/i 30 days, months later on credit report again!?
I had a debt from a collection company for AT&T for about $600 as a negative on my credit report. I had sent them a validation letter months and months ago (I think from June-Aug 06). They never responded and they took off the negative mark on my credit reports. Just a couple of days ago I received a packet in the mail from the collection company saying that the debt has been validated. The packet included a very long statement of each call I made and my last statment amount. Didn't quite say that I never paid it or that I did. Just the last statement.
I checked one of my credit reports and they put it on as a negative remark!
I thought that if they didn't validate it in 30 days they can reinvestigate for another 15. This has been MONTHS later.
I have done some research and I can't seem to find proper information on how to deal with it. I don't quite understand the FCRA completely...sometimes a little hard to understand.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
4 AnswersCredit1 decade agoI need help with my landlord. I need more time on lease and he won't give it! Help?!?
I live in VT. I have rented with my current landlord for 2 years. First was in a studio apartment for a year lease and then I went month to month until I got into the two bedroom apartment with a one year lease. My lease is up August 1st of this year. My fiance and I are going to be moving in August in our new home. Thing is, I told the landlord and he said that we can't go month to month after Augsut 1st. I have NEVER been late and they refuse to let us live there for ONE EXTRA MONTH. My lease now says my residency there terminates once lease is up but last time my lease was up I was able to go month to month. Now that I will no longer be living in the complex he says that wecan't go month to month. Do I have the legal right to just stay one more month? Technically, if I stay, I don't need to pay for August rent because I paid the last month's rent when I first got the place last year. Do you have any websites that would have that info because I can't find one?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics2 decades agoKnow of a place online to buy used car parts?
I am looking to find windshield wiper arms for my 2001 Hyundai Elantra. I have looked online and alot of sites I can't find the arms. I tried Ebay and Amazon and no luck. Would anyone know of anywhere that I can buy them online?
For those unsure what I am talking about, It is not the part the blade itself sits on, not the motor but the long arm part that moves the blade back and forth.

The words are along the lines of:
"And then she said...Yeah yeah yeah..yeah yeah yeah..oh oh...oh oh"
It is a dance song that just came out and I can never hear the name of it or who did it!
10 points to whoever is right!
Thank you so much!
5 AnswersMusic2 decades agoIf you don't pay a collection company will it come off after 7 years?
I have a collection company that just reported negative on my credit report after I received their letter stating they have my account and will report negative if no payments. They then put me negative on my credit report. I had called them today asking if they can take off the negative they put on my credit report, they said "We don't do that". So I told them I will not pay them. This debt was for AT&T and I first went deliquent with them early 2004 or late 2003. The date on my credit report with them shows "Date Opened: 02/2006". Now, first I would like to know is, is that date wrong? Should it be date that I went in Default with AT&T? Second, if I DO NOT pay the debt because they won't take of credit report....will it come off seven years as of the opening date or the last time they reported to the credit bureau? I know it comes off after 7 years from last activity, but is that from when they report or when I pay? Just need some help to clarify! :)
