  • Typical of a sprained wrist?

It's been a week since my wrist injury and my wrist still looks swollen/misshapen.

My injury is on the outside of my wrist right on that ball bone that sticks out. I jammed my wrist doing something stupid - I tried to break my hockey stick on a metal pole without hockey gloves on... the stick didn't break but I immediately felt the pain in my left wrist (bottom hand). It went numb it was so painful.

I can move my wrist in most positions except out (away from my body, that jamming motion) It's also painful to lift anything heavy or play hockey. I foolishly played a game 2 days after injury that likely made it worse.

Should it still be swollen after a week? It never bruised but it is noticeably a different shape than my other wrist.

  • Need advice on buying a blender?

My boyfriend asked for a Magic Bullet. I've read some reviews that say it has pieces that wear out quickly. He won't be using it daily, but likely for a variety of things. Mostly smoothies (needs to blend ice and frozen fruits well). My budget is around $100-$150. I would like to get him the Magic Bullet, but is it worth it? Is there a better blender for the same price?

  • Inexpensive home theater HD projector?

I am looking to buy a home theater HD projector to hook my laptop up to to play movies. It doesn't need to be huge, at least 20" screen with a nice clear picture. One that isn't too expensive either. I'm hoping to get one for under $300 if possible. I don't know the brands very well, and I don't want to buy something that will burn out in a couple of months.

    Any suggestions?

  • I have a bump on my leg for 2 months?

I got hit with a slap shot (in hockey) on my leg about 3 inches above my ankle where there's no padding and there was obviously a huge bruise. Surprisingly the bruise moved down around the heel of my foot and was red in colouration (instead of typical green/blue). A few weeks after the bruises had all cleared up my leg still felt bruised but I thought nothing of it. Now there's a little lump under the skin where I got hit and it hurts to touch. It's been over 2 months since I got hit with the puck. Should I be concerned about this lump?

  • My boyfriend has been vomitting all day and he has type 1 diabetes, how can I help?

Since he got up this morning and had breakfast he has been throwing up. He has tried eating things such as fruit and drinking lots of fluids but not even water stays down. He has been throwing up for 17 hours now almost constantly. He has type 1 diabetes and his blood sugar has gotten a little high a couple of times and managed it by taking insulin shots. He's 21. We've tried pepto bismol and he's just thrown it up. Nothing seems to work, I don't know what to do. We've tried milk, ginger ale (diet and regular), gatorade. Nothing seems to stay down. He hasn't eaten at all either - it all just comes up. What do we do?

  • scholarly sites that provide information about "Thyme" the herb?

I don't know what it is but I am struggling to find scholarly information on Thyme. I'm writing a paper on the geographical distribution - spread of production, patterns of consumption, and geographical origin. Can anyone suggest some sites for me to look at that have AUTHORITATIVE information (from governmental and creditable non-government organizations) please? I can't even find anything for "the history of Thyme".

  • Can I substitute cake/pastry flour for all-purpose white flour in a recipe?

If so, is there something I take out? I think the cake/pastry flour has baking powder/soda but I'm not positive. Please let me know!

  • What is a healthy substitute for soda?

I am addicted to pop, particularly coke. What I really desire is the carbonation sensation. I want to get away from added sugars or unnatural sweeteners like aspartame. I like juice but it doesn't give me the same refreshment of soda - I'm convinced its the carbonation. Is there any kind of 100% fruit juice (with no added sugars) that is carbonated that would be a healthy substitute? Or can I make my own carbonated juice easily? I am also a fan of citrus flavour but lemon and water isn't going to cut it....

  • How to avoid white pieces around your vagina...?

I try to keep my clitoris clean by wiping it with a wash cloth before receiving oral from my boyfriend. I am always concerned that there are those white pieces from going to the bathroom stuck in there because whenever I clean it there seems to be a repulsive amount. How do I avoid having this problem altogether? Is there a technique I am missing? I don't want to always have to worry about it being spotless before he goes down on me. Often times if I've forgotten to before hand I refuse to let him give oral because I'm embarrassed about him tasting little pieces of toilet paper down there. Any suggestions of how to keep it clean?

  • Is my turtle okay in this water....?

I just cleaned my turtle's tank yesterday. I had a plecko fish in the tank with him for months and I guess the cleaning was too much stress on the fish and I found him dead in the tank this morning... and eaten. Not a surprise, I knew turtles ate fish, but the water is now cloudy and smelly from the dead fish. My filter is working and pouring clean water into the tank but it is still cloudy after at least 3 hours. Is my turtle okay in this water until it filters itself or do I need to take him out and put in new water right away?

  • I fell on my elbow and now have lump under skin that's painful?

2 weeks ago in hockey I fell hard on my elbow. As expected it bruised, but now it is still very painful. Because of where it is, it's been hard to avoid hitting it (accidentally). There is a pea sized lump under my skin where it was bumped and is very sensitive to touch. I get surges of pain from it sometimes when I bend it, and it kind of feels like having a big scab on the joint that splits open.

The good news is that I can bend the elbow and it is no longer swollen. But the pain has stuck around for 2 weeks now and I want to know what this bump could be?

  • My new baby RES turtle isn't eating...?

I got him yesterday and have been trying to feed him turtle pellets and a few times he's taken a nibble at it but hasn't ingested a significant amount. Should I be worried? Is there a particular way I should be feeding him? I tried putting it in front of him in the water, and tried putting it on his dock and he hasn't really touched it. What should I do?
