I know the Battery V is 10.5 to 14.2 on my vehicle, by test and the laptop battery says max output of 10.2 V . So logic dictates to me a input of about 10.2 or 10.5 will keep the battery charged with a few milliamps current. I am aware the power needs of the laptop vary but the battery will compensate for this

No seems to be able to answer how I can do this .Every one seems to want to tell me to get a power robbing adaptor, to 120V and convert it to my power supply. Especially the companys that sell them.

I am asking someone with a bit of electronic experience to answer this.. I am thinking probably a simple resistor in the Vehicles power supply will do this . Maybe a zenier dode bleed set at 10.2 or 10.5 will control over voltage? and a 15 watt resistor from the vehicles system will be fine?

I havent done electronics in quite a while so I do not know the simple and cheap circuts available now.

I have seen a simple cheap $3 circut to control v. and another to control current and sustain the voltage.

Help will be greatly appricated,,thanks for your thoughts.

The charger (120 v,) transformer says 18 V. output, to the computer.

The computer's battery-pack says it has 10.2 V maximum output..

This is all a bit strange to a older guy.

I am thinking I can connect the power input Jack ,directly to my car electrical system. Possibly I will have to use a resistor to bring the V. down to 10V. like the battery does? This seems fairly simple, however Radio s and several other places say it cant be done, they don't know why tho..

I have foam sheeting and blankets. I will need 6' 5" in length about. I will be in a shallow cave, so rain is no problem. The the temp may drop to 35F .Jon .thanks

As you know vehicle V. ranges from 10.5 to 14.8 in my van. It seems a limiter is needed to keep the Voltage to 10.5 , I need to keep the current loss to a minimum too, in order to get long battery life. thanks Jon

The marble about 14"x14"it has a swirl pattern with a few little dings on it and the color is faded too.

I am thinking some type of sandpaper will restore it . Any ideas?

It was partially stripped some years ago with what appears to be substance that left a waxy residue on the surface. Where do I go from here? thanks.
