  • Would you continue to pay a home equity loan with 20k in a CD?

I came into a win fall of $48,000 a few months ago, I paid off all my credit card debt and bought a small boat and still netted $20,000 which I put in a CD earning 4%. I have $25,000 in lines of credit with 2 credit cards and no balance. I still have a $18,000 home equity loan I pay, this is my only debt, the original term was 7% over 15 years. My CD matures in September and I will be lucky if I get 3% on new terms. My question is I like the safety net of the $20k in liquid able assets yet I only get about $74.00 a month in interest yet I pay $189.00 per month in my Home Equity loan. Would you take the remaining $20K and pay off the Home Equity and lose that sense of security of having $20k to back you up? Would you rely on paid off credit cards with a combined line of $25k as your safety net? Finally , if I keep the 20k in various CDs and continue to pay the Home Equity loan in about 14 years the 20k will be mine fully…. What are your opinions?

  • Should I finance my start up food based business thru stock or loan payback.?

I need to finance my food based start up business, I need opinions on what way you think is the best way to finance. My two ideas are either I borrow the funds from the investor and pay them back thru a structured payment plan or offer up shares in the business. If you could provide your opinion and information on why you feel that way. If you have a valid / creative idea for securing the funds, please enter your idea.

  • How do I offer stock in my company to potential investors even if I am not on a stock exchange?

I have a venture that is at the point of needing more capital, around $15,000.00. My company / venture is too small for some SBA money and too large to invest any more of my own capital. I've decided to incorporate in Delaware and issue shares. I've added up all my company assets and came up with a price per share of value. I've also caculated how much more I need to bring my product to market. I've taken the amount and divided by possible issuing shares and came up with a reasonable selling price. My problem is since I (again) too small to trade on a stock exchange I need to get ideas on how to market my shares. Please provide objective ideas. Thank you.

  • Packaging and shipping frozen Ravioli?

I have a killer recipe for raviolis and have landed my first commercial account in Utah and I am in New Jersey. The restaurant is only going to order in increments of 10 to 15 pounds a week, not nearly enough traffic to ship via own truck. Does anyone know how to freeze the product for shipping, package the product and keep cold for the 2 day journey? If you do know and are willing to share please provide links to where goods and services can be purchased. Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Clothing Storage System for Warehouse Environment. I want to organize and protect?

I've just obtained 750 square feet of warehouse space to store my clothing (mostly shirts). My problem is I want to know if there is a storage system out there that will allow me to store, protect and organize my inventory. I do not want custom built, I need something readily available. I need to store about 3000 pieces in 30 different styles, 5 different sizes and about 12 different colors. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
