  • Does this seem odd to anyone else?

Prudhoe Bay Oil production is shutting down for unspecified duration - cutting off 8% of our national supply and 50% of domestic production. No real intense coverage in the news media like one would anticipate happening. No huge spike in gas pump prices either! AND a station owner told my dad on Monday that prices were jumping from 3.15 to 3.79 on Tuesday which never happened - in fact we are now down to 2.95 in my town. And we've all seen the pump price jump all over the place in reaction to news events (and often seemingly nothing at all).

So - knowing how "in the pocket" of Big Oil our illustrious leader is....am I being totally paranoid suspecting that there is some kind of government influence, supression of info, coercion, etc. etc. at work in this situation?

  • Could ducks/geese REALLY take a lake with them?

Paul Bunyan Tales - movies - folklore all tell of a time when a flock of ducks or gaggle of geese arrive at a small lake whilst migrating and take shelter in the water overnight. Whereupon the lake freezes overnight - trapping the fowl in the lake - and they fly off in the morning taking the lake with them leaving only the impression in the ground where the lake was! SO!! What is the optimum number of waterfowl & size/depth of lake where this situation could truly happen?
