  • Where can I get stock photos?

I am starting a small business and I am looking for stock photos to use in my website and brochures to make them look nice. Is there a good website that I can use to get stock photos free or at a very small cost?

    Thanks!

  • What was the name of the club in the old Buckhead area of Atlanta that had a slide at the entrance?

Back when Buckhead was party central and not a construction zone... what was the name of the club that had a slide? When you went in the door you could go up or downstairs. There was a slide to the downstairs.

  • How can I get my Chihuahua to quit barking at guests?

My dog is 3 years old and genearlly well behaved. He is the nervous aggressive type, so when he sees strangers, particularly when guests come in the house, he starts barking like a maniac. It usually only lasts 5 minutes or so but it is annoying. How can I get him to stop it?

  • East Atlanta Neighborhood?

    Hi All,

I used to live in ATL from 1999-2003. I am moving back to the area. I will be working on the east side of town, so I was wondering what the neighborhoods of East Atlanta (East Atlanta, Cabbagetown, Reynoldstown, Little Five Points, etc) are like now. Things change so fast now I wanted to get an idea about safety, type of people living there, and now pricey living is. MARTA access would be nice too.

    Thanks!

  • Social Security Number on Recommendation Forms?

I am in the process for applying for a job in a school district. They provide a form for the people doing your recommendations to fill out. On the form, there is a blank for me as the applicant, to write in my social security number. They then want the person serving as your reference to send the form in.

With all the identity theft going around, I don't really feel comfortable putting my SSN on the form. What should I do?

    Thanks!

  • Is it necessary to list references in your resume?

I am working on my resume and trying to condense a 7 page curriculum vita into a resonable size resume for a job search? Is it all right to say 'references on request' or something similar so it does not take up room?

    Thanks!

  • Should I tell my friend she stinks (literally smells bad)?

I sometimes notice when hanging out with one of my friends that she has body odor more often than most people. Also, it is a different smell than most people and unusually pungent. I recently shared a hotel room with her for a weekend. When I opened the door to our room, the smell from her clothes smacked me in the face!

We are adults and she is a professional and currently in search of a long term relationship. I feel very awkward about it. Should I tell her? If so, what should I say?

  • NCLB -- Friend or Foe?

Wondering what others think of NCLB...

On one side, kids are getting tested to death and teachers are narrowing the curriculum to teach to the test.

On the other hand, what gets measured, gets done. Now that someone is actually looking at the test scores that kids earn with a certain teacher, you can't just go in your room, shut the door and show Ferris Bueller's day all day off anymore. Someone will eventually hold you accountable if you school is not making AYP.

  • Apartment on the MARTA line in Atlanta?

Hey! I used to live in Atlanta and I am planning on moving back. I want to live near the MARTA just so I can be a little 'greener.' Are there any good apartment complexes? I am thinking of one near lindbergh/ buckhead / lenox or in midtown (north ave, arts center, midtown). Any suggestions? I will finally be done with school so I should be able to afford a decent place.

    Thanks!

  • How are the school systems in the DC Metro Area?

Hello. I am a school psychologist and considering relocating to the DC area. How are the school systems? Do people hate them and send their kids to private school if they can afford it? Are school employees treated and paid fairly?

    Thanks!

  • Why do people want to get their kids into special education?

I was just wondering why do people want to get their kids into special education. In general, the outcomes for special education are not that great. Also, when a student gets into special education, they rarely get out. Later in life this can cause issues also. You cannot even go to the military or a community college without a general education diploma in many places.

There are cases where a student definitely needs some type of individualized instruction, but there is a long term cost involved.

  • Training time for a half marathon?

I am considering running a half marathon in January in Miami. I currently am able to run about 3 miles comfortably. The problem is that I have a very busy job and am not able to exercise everyday. The most I could do would be about 4 days a week. Is that enough? Also, I recently moved to a colder climate and I do not have much experience running in cold weather. Should I sign up for this race or wait for one at a warmer time of year.

    Thanks :)
