Is it time for the Scots to stop saying 'shite' and start saying 'shicht' instead? night - nicht, light - licht, right - richt etc. Maybe the English could put the 'gh' back in and it would make more sense: shite - shight - shicht.

I asked this question three years ago and no one could help, but ever hopeful, I'm repeating my question.

I have been told that above the entrance to the University of Cairo is written, "Chemistry is important, Allah is more important." Can anyone direct me to a link where I can see this in Arabic characters, preferably a printable version. I want it for above my own school science lab, in which I also teach Religion classes.

I surveyed the membership totals of each country a few days ago and was shocked to find that they added up to not much more than a few thousand. I understand the financial problems many have, especially in underdeveloped countries and eastern Europe, but I wonder why Esperanto speakers in the relatively affluent West don't sign up to promote a language which we know works even if it isn't perfect.

Can anyone give me or point me in the direction of information on this subspecies and its distinguishing characteristics, please? Is it regarded as a subspecies of testudo hermanni or of testudo boettgeri? Thanks folks!

I have a few good websites but a few more wouldn't go amiss either. What I'm really after though, are the minutiae that can only come from having done the thing in person.
