1 AnswerDogs9 years agoWhy is rate of bonds from Spain going up a bad thing?
I don't know a lot about economics, but I do know that Spain isn't doing that well. I read that one reason they aren't doing well is that after all the austerity measures their "bond rates are creeping up" The article I read mentioned that this was a bad thing. First, doesn't their government determine what the bonds do, so how can something intentional "creep up?" Second, and my bigger question, wouldn't higher bond rates make more people invest in the country, and therefore be good for the economy?
No politics please, just serious answers.
1 AnswerInvesting9 years agoHow do I back up my itunes library?
What is best way to back up your itunes library. I have both songs and audiobooks from CD and purchased on itunes ? (so I can't just copy the my music folder because the itunes purchases would be locked out) I want something so that if both my computer and my ipod died, my music and audiobook collection would be safe. (42 gigs)
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhy would my dvd burner be fine except when...?

2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoHow do public works projects create new jobs?
I don't understand how they create new jobs. If I understand the process correctly, a project is presented, companies already in existence bid on the project, a winning bid is chosen, and that company works on the job. Where are the new jobs?
1 AnswerGovernment & Non-Profit1 decade agoWhat is the name of this fantasy book?
I read a book I got from the library a few years ago and I am trying to remember what it is called. It had a human or elf main character. They traveled with a team of good guys to the north of their land where a bad guy ruled from a castle fortress. The book ended after they defeated the bad guy in the northern mountain. There was a dwarf who was a fierce warrior and I believe the elves lived in forests to the west. It's not Lord of the Rings or Eragon. Thanks.

1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoIs the bailout going to cost tax payers $1000 each?
At work today, a gentleman told me that the bailout will cost each taxpayer an extra $1000. Does this make sense? Has anyone heard what the actual cost per person might be?
3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoDoes anyone know any good software to print a really big family tree on?
I have 863 names some going back to the 1300's. I am currently using microsoft excel. There is no way to print it though without taping papers together, and that looks tacky. Does anyone know a program or a company that would make it fit on one really really poster?
1 AnswerGenealogy1 decade agoWhy did my ipod touch stop working?
I want to know why it got a black screen. Here are the only relevant details I know. It was in my pocket at work all day. I have done that before. It worked for some of the day because I played a few applications early that morning. It is new, the headphone jack broke on my old one and apple replaced it. I recently bought a new case for it. It is a case with a magnet in it, but there is metal between the magnet and the ipod so the ipod should be protected from the magnet. The case was specially designed for ipods bought from Target. On the way to work I had plugged into a cheap "cigarette lighter to mp3 player" converter that plays your ipod on the stereo in the car. I have done that before too, but only recently.
I don't need to know how to fix it. It's fixed. I restored it on itunes to the original factory settings. I just want to prevent it from happening again. Any insights would be appreicated.

3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoRCA Lyra mp3 player issues?
I have 4 gb RCA Lyra that I bought 2 years ago. It seems the charge (after charging) lasts shorter and shorter every time I turn it on to use it. Do I have any options other than a new mp3 player. I am poor and cannot afford a new one. Also it takes FOREVER starting it and loading the songs. ( I have 900 saved on it)
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoSince only 14% of the country approves of the current democratic congress, what does it mean people want?
At the end of March the approval rating for congress was 28%, but it has steadly gone downhill and is now 14%. Bush's has consistently been 20ish for sometime, but congress has not sunk below Bush for sometime. Does this mean that generally people are as fed up with the democratically run congress just as much (or even more) as they are with Bush? Does it mean that most Americans want new leadership not from either party, but one that represents its people and what they want? Or does it mean something completely different? (On a side note, the approval rating for how congress is handling immigration is a 2% approval rating)

8 AnswersSwimming & Diving1 decade agoWhy is it they get to break the law and I have to pay for it?
50ish years ago, President Eisenhower said that if the American goverment evacuates you from a war torn country, you owe the American goverment $150. It is still a law on the books today. We are evacuting citizens who are retardedly living in one the most dangerous countries on the planet and not charging them for it when it predictably gets more dangerous there. Why do I have to pay my taxes and fees to government every year but they get this one free on me and my taxes?
