I've been friends with my crush for 3 years-ish, we've got along great.

For the last semester, she went back home (overseas), but she'll be back next semester. During the time we were apart, we still talked online and she even asked me to go visit her and stay at her house. I was like great, I'll organise the dates and stuff.

It's been a while since that, but just yesterday, I though I should confess how I feel about her. I know that doing this online is bad, but since I'm not seeing her for a long time, and telling her this when I'm at her house with no where to go in an unknown country would be awkward.

It went something like this: "You're a nice person, and I wanted you to know, I like you more than a friend"... she replies "you're nice too"... me: "can we be more than friends?" her: "huh?" So i dropped the question: Can you be my girlfriend? At this point... it says she hasn't read the message... but from the last two parts, I think it was quite clear...

It's been almost 12 hours since this, I don't understand why she isn't replying (or even read the last message...). I'd be much "happier" if she turned me down so I can ask her to just be friends again. Now its just dead, silent air... HELP :( Do I just wait? Am I supposed to ask again? It took me so much courage to tell her and I don't want to ruin any chances I've had.

I have two gold Severums that just laid eggs. I have a few things I want to ask:

1) This is the second time I've seen them lay eggs. However, it was just before I was leaving for overseas, so I couldn't do a thing. I came back and there were no fish or eggs left. Last time, they laid the eggs on a floor of the tank. This time they laid it on the glass of the tank (vertical), what should I do? I can't move the eggs!

2) I'm actually unsure of what sex these two are. One of them has no marks on their face (ever), while the other used to have red "worms" on their face. It's a little faded now, but still visible. Is this a good indication of that this is one female and one male?

3) What should I be doing now? I'd really like to successfully raise the eggs!

I have an old desktop and it recently started to act up.

This desktop is used for web browsing mainly and my brother often plays Facebook games namely Restaurant city. However, the game does not load now. It takes a long time then it says "408 request time out - your browser didn't send a complete request in time"

I've tried many things to no avail like:

1) clearing history, cache, cookies etc.

2) resetting the router

3) changing the ethernet cables around

4) restored the computer to an earlier date

5) disabled firewalls and AV software.

6) used many other browsers (all failed)

7) scanned for viruses and ad-ware (result: none)

What seems to be the problem?

We've noticed that our green severums have laid eggs this morning.

I just wants some info on what we should be doing and what signs we should be looking for.

E.g what colours the eggs should be, habits of the fish, time till the eggs hatch etc etc.

This is the second time some fish have laid eggs for me, but unfortunately no babies were made in the first time (this first time was not the green severums)

I have a Toshiba m750 tablet. It weighs 2kg, I wouldn't call it heavy, but its definitely not light.

So now I'm searching for a net-book tablet to have something that is really portable. There are 2 that I've targeted: The Asus T91MT and Lenovo S10-3t.

I'm leaning heavily towards the Asus but it has an atom Z520 (1.33Ghz) processor which has been called very slow. But then again it has a SDD drive, which i'm sure is faster than a normal HDD

The Lenovo on the other hand has an atom N450 (1.6Ghz) processor, but a 5400 RPM HDD...

Many reviews and people I've talked to say net-books are slow. Thing is, I always set my m750 to run no more than 33% of the full processor speed, meaning it sits at 0.8Ghz max. I don't think my computer is slow by any means, besides slow copy and paste for large files.

So would the T91MT be REALLY slow? Likewise with the S10-3t?

I'm only going to use it to take notes (one note), web browsing (some light flash gaming included), word processing and PDF reading. Will these tasks be fine? I probably won't be running more than 2 or 3 of these tasks together.

I have a toshiba M750 at the moment, but i find it a bit too "unportable" when i start carrying other things like books with it to UNI.

So I now I'm considering to buy an Asus T91MT.

It was a hard choice between the Lenovo S10-3T, but the lenovo wasn't that much smaller than my current tablet. It was also heavier than the asus.

When comparing, I found that the lenovo had quickstart (splashtop) installed with the machine. A little googling, found that splashtop 2.0 was also included on the Asus T91MT. However, I have not seen any review or user that seemed to note this point for the Asus.

Can someone tell me if splashtop is included with the T91MT (or if it means a BIOS update)?

I've encountered a slight problem with my windows...

Let me walk you through what has happened prior to this problem.

1. We clean installed windows 7 professional over our vista home premium

2. Surprisingly, our windows 7 performance is very poor... I couldn't do anyting without it lagging

3. Parents thought it would be better if we stuck with vista then. So reinstalled vista

4. I was backing up and re-installing my programs. In particular, office could not install after several attempts.

5. I was defragging my disks and it said it was "dirty" so i ran chkdsk, but it didnt fix the problem.

6. Soon my vista install became horrible... VERY horrible... Don't ask.

7. So since laggy performance was better than what my vista had become... It was back to 7

8. But each time i install, it would stop at 30% and say: "The file or directory (some random file) is corrupt or unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility".

9. I thought it would be a good idea to format the disc to get rid of those horrible "corrupt file" messages in vista... so once the windows 7 installation process failed, i had nothing to fall back on.

10. Nothing would work, i could not install or boot into my computer... So in desperate measures, i installed ubuntu... which worked, Then i moved to XP.

11. I repeatedly attempted to install either vista or 7,... both failing with that same error message.

12. A brief google search found that installing DVD wouldnt work for me.

What should i do? I would like to be using windows 7 or vista at the moment. But i keep getting that error message.

We recently had our old toyota corolla (2002) written off. Staying safe, our new purchase was a 2009 corolla.

Mum is the main driver of the car, so most of the things will have to suit her. One of the only things that keep her from driving the new car are the side mirrors. They are the new mirrors that are wide (and curved).

These mirrors are convex and make mum very uncomfortable while driving. Is it possible to get flat side mirrors for the 2009 corolla? If so where, and for roughly how much?

About a week ago, I saw a cockroach in the bathroom (also where my fern is placed). In an attempt to kill the cockroach with bug spray, i accidentally sprayed my fern too. Not on the leaves but the soil!

A few days later, the oldest leaves have dried to brown, newer leaves are still green. My fern is never brown (unless it is dying like now). Instantly, i gave it a bit more water spraying to the leaves (and watered a bit more frequently) and put some fertiliser into the soil. This stop the browning of the leaves (at least there arent any more leaves going brown now).

But today, i noticed that some of the newer leaves are starting to dry too. What can i do to save the fern? I dont want it to die, its been with me for a long time =(

I want to know what type of ink is used in signs.

The signs I'm referring to are the ones that hang outside shops and are backlit by fluorescent lights.

Is there any way we can removed this ink? Like, by using some kind of liquid or chemical? (But without damaging the plastic though!)

Like my question says, my black oranda has suddenly developed a white puffy thing on above its eye. It resembles a thich white eyebrow. It's not in the eye, but above it.

It lives in the tank with a small pearlscale and a common goldfish. They (not sure who) did lay some eggs before.

The tanks is 34 Litres and the oranda is probably a little less than 10cm.

Can someone provide me with whats happening to my oranda? Is it a disease? If so what is it called and how should it be treated?

Like the questions says, my fish have began to breed.

We only found out they we're breeding yesterday and overnight they have already laid some eggs.

What should i do to take care of them?

The male is a common Fantail and the female is a black lionhead oranda. The eggs are currently on and inside a mug we gave them as a toy.

There are two tankmates, both who are small pearlscales. They have been keeping away from the eggs.

We have had 2 Severums for a long time. Its only current tank-mate is a small suckerfish (approx 1.5 inch)

When we first bought them, they were withdrawn and always hid behind the bubbler in the tank. We thought they were just not adapt to the new environment.

In hope to make them more friendly, we bought a few goldfish to accompany them. They then turned from withdrawn to aggressive and would peck at the goldfish. The goldfish were very injured afterwards =(

One goldfish got along with them for a while but recently the severums started to attack him and we had to move that last goldfish too.

Now they are even more withdrawn than usual and are not eatting like they usually do. My dad says that i may have frightened them when i took the goldfishes out...

When we walk close to them they move violently and move rapidly within the tank. They used to do this too, but now its becoming more and more frequent.

Wiki says that Severums should be mild-tempered and would get along with smaller fishes. Why are they so agitated and abnormal?

We also observed that one of the severums has slight changes in body colour from yellow to yellow with orange stripes. Its eyes also went red.

What should I do to make them less withdrawn/agitated??

I have 3 computers on my network:

My first computer is windows vista home premium, it gets used around once a day for around 2-3 hours.

My other computer is a windows XP, it is hardly used but is part of the network.

Last, is my cousins windows vista home basic (THE PROBLEM). He leeches off our wireless internet and uses HEAPS of the internet because he downloads movies and streams videos.

I want to be able to limit his internet usage in some way. I would like to slow his connection down but not actually turn the router off. Is there some form of software (preferably freeware) that can slow his access down?

N.B my router doesn't seem to have a wireless management thing... Its a dlink DI-524, the modem is DSL-302G if that helps =), I physically have access to the router but I'm not allowed to pull the plug =P

I have a really old computer, it only has 192mb of ram, pentium3 and around 10 gb of HD.

I heard that it would be better to run old computers such as mine on Linux rather than windows,

currently, i use windows but its quite slow. Should i change to linux? and if so, which one?

SERIOUS QUESTION:The general equation for burning a hydrocarbon is CnH2n+n + O > CO2 + H2O. Does this mean if we bottle up methane (which is fart) or another hydrocarbon and burn it we get carbon dioxide and water?
