I live in Japan and I have this card game on my cell phone, but I don't know what the name is. (I don't play card games that much) Here are the rules. You start with 4 players and a full deck + a joker, then all the cards are dealt out. One person starts by laying ("bidding" for lack of a better word I guess) down either:

1. A single card

2. 2,3, or 4 of the same # card

3. A run of 3 or more cards in the same suit

After that, each person tries to beat the previous "bid" using the same format. So if someone lays down a two jacks, then then the only way to beat that is to lay down two queens, kings, etc. If someone lays down 4,5,6 of spades, the only way to beat that is to lay down a higher# suited run of three. The highest card is the joker, followed by 2,A,K,Q... If however, someone lays down 4 of the same # card, the order gets reversed. First person who lays down all their cards wins, but you can't lay down a 2 or the joker (or a 3 if the order is reversed) as your last card.
