I've had a long career in applied mathematics; anything from bridge design, to mortgage and insurance policies, to failure and maintenance of heavy machinery, to economic forecasting. I intended to study History but was persuaded to switch to Mathematics instead. Long association with India and I spend part of each year there. So my Answers are about public policy, maths, history and Anglo-Indian matters.
