NathanCoppedge
I am in the process of beginning to self-publish a creative encyclopedia and a number of other books. See my Author Page on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nathan-Coppedge/e/B007SN7UTQ/ My primary web presence, demonstrating my role as an philosopher, artist, poet, and inventor, is at: http://www.nathancoppedge.com My blog, Hyper-Cubism and Intellectual Avant-Garde: http://www.hypercubics.blogspot.com I also have a new modern art gallery at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/HyperCubism Obviously, I wish everyone could find meaning in life. As long as it's not unfair. Or as long as the status quo is pretty exceptional.
Is life divided between questioners and answerers?

5 AnswersHistory6 years agoI have been thinking of a science of problematics, which could be a domain of philosophy. What are topics for this theoretical science?
Evil might be one of the problems it encounters. What are other problems? Are there problems that are not evil? Is evil necessarily only one of the topics, perhaps the most serious? Is there a topic for problems that is more serious than evil?
1 AnswerPhilosophy6 years agoMany theories of meaning seem to boil down to some kind of Essentialism. What other theories are there?
Specifically, theories of meaning. Be as original as you like. I can invent theories whenever I want. This time I want to hear your opinion, instead of theories inside my head.
2 AnswersPhilosophy6 years agoAssuming metaphysics is not religious, does metaphysics favor a coherence theory or instead a correspondence theory of truth?
The more information the better.
2 AnswersPhilosophy6 years agoIs genuine philosophy metaphysical, logical, ethical, or what?
8 AnswersPhilosophy6 years agoHow does Logic apply to Metaphysics? Any ideas?
5 AnswersPhilosophy6 years agoIs there a role for originality in ethics? Or does ethics tend to be unthinking?
Is this just my prejudice? Isn't it true that a morality without creativity is unthinking?
4 AnswersPhilosophy7 years agoDescribe your life as an immortal? Be realistic?
What if you lived the life of an immortal, and it was a natural extension of your current life. Describe what is absurd or else predictable about your life as an immortal.
Bonus: How do you make your immortal life worth living?
12 AnswersPhilosophy7 years agoSeeking metaphysical systems?
I want to award points to the most interesting / impressive metaphysical system.
If you can state an old system in a new way, that would be good too.
I prefer originality, and I don't dote on religion very much.
My background is Unitarian Universalist, college town, schizophrenia and the avant-garde, but also Jung and ascetic hedonism.
3 AnswersPhilosophy7 years agoKnowledge System. Seeking comments?
I think I found a way to collapse n categories into a number of deductions equal to the root of n.
The method might be useful for reaching aphoristic statements. It might be used for a new form of information philosophy, emotional interface design, or calculators that compute common-sense statements. The writing builds on my previously published philosophy book, The Dimensional Philosopher's Toolkit.
Here is the link for those that are interested:

(The earlier blog post explains the method in more detail).
I would welcome any comments readers have.
1. Do you agree this might be a viable system?
2. Is the system confusing?
3. Is the system constructive?
4. Is there a logical flaw?
5. What do you think?
6. Applications in logic or ethics?

Say, what would Epicurus say? Or what is the quality you seek in wine? Or what makes you think you can hold in your meal at any given time?

1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoIf we ask seriously, what is the problem with problems? What is the problem-with-problems-with-problems?---?
Does this show that answers are unattainable, or conversely that truth is complicated?
Explain your sense of the meaning of that process, in as many words as possible. Is it technological? Is it rational? Can it be idealistic? What's wrong with it? Is it scientific? Does it have a specific idea of how to get it done? Is there a system? Are some levels better than others? Is it better to extend it, to go only to level one or level two, or level four?
What does your specific answer say about your specific process?
2 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoIf momentum is possible without conventional mass, is momentum possible without conventional velocity?
In other words, does the conventional equation for momentum require only one of its two elements?
We already know that conventionally the equation is Momentum = Mass * Velocity
It took some work, but an answerer agreed with me at: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AosL....
We also know that photons don't conventionally have mass:
Consider the previous answer at:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AosL....
If the equation can be fulfilled in one way, then logically it could be fulfilled in another way,
For example, an object tethered on a slope has no velocity, but it is the mass of the object that causes it to pull on the tether. Perhaps this is momentum without velocity, even to some minds, without force? Anyone agree with me?
I'm interested in detailed but very conventional explanations of how this MIGHT work AT ALL
Be careful not to conflate velocity with force. Velocity is NOT force.
