Is there a minimum income for taxes?
I'm on unemployment in Minnesota, and when I went to get my taxes done this year, it looks like I'm going to get back everything I paid in. I was wondering if you make under a certain amount in a year, if you even have to pay taxes? I'm wondering this mainly because if I'm going to end up getting everything back, why even pay it in? I'm a single mother and any extra penny helps!
Let me know if you know anything about this, or websites I can visit to try and figure it out on my own.
Thanks!
3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoYouTube High Quality feature?
I recently had my LCD screen replaced on my laptop, and my boyfriend suspects that it was replaced with a lower quality screen because when he tries to view a video, he is no longer given the "HQ" option.
I think the website has changed and gives you an option of 360p or 480p. My boyfriend thinks that because of a lower quality screen, we aren't able to get better quality videos than before.
I don't kno much about computers or anything like that, so I would like to kno if my new LCD screen could be the reason, or if the YouTube website has actually changed.
Thanks for any and all help!
2 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoRent deposit question?
Okay, so I went and looked at a new place earlier this week, and liked it. The landlord told me to drop off a check at his office later the next day for the deposit (and to hold the unit for me). I just looked in my account today and saw that he has already cashed my deposit check, even though we haven't signed the lease yet.
Now, when I have moved into apartments in the past, they usually just hold the check until everything is set in stone, or until I actually move in.
Is that legal? Should I be worried about anything? I mean the guys not just some dude I bumped into on the street, he has a leasing office and everything... But now that he has actually cashed that check, I'm sort of wondering why?
9 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoThank-yous with multiple items?
Thanks for the answer about writing a simple thank you note! But now I'm stuck again! There are a few people who have given 2 or more gifts. So, when I'm writing out the note, do I list all the items? Do I have to mention the use of all the items? Or is it okay to just discuss one of them?
Thanks for all the help!

2 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoI need a keyboard...?
I'm looking to buy a keyboard that I can use with my laptop. Some of the classes I'm taking requires a lot of typing, and typing on a completely flat keyboard like on my laptop makes it a lot harder. What I want is a keyboard that props up, and is curved (So the front is lower then curves up to the top, not one of the ones that split the keys down the middle and curves to each hand)
So my question is, does this type of keyboard have a certain style name? Oh, and what brands are better than others? What should I expect to spend for a reliable keyboard? I'm willing to spend some money, but there is no way I'm going to fork over hundreds of dollars one...
Thanks

3 AnswersGambling1 decade agoDiscipline/reward system that works?
I need help coming up with a reward/discipline system for my family.
Here's my situation:
We've been having problems with my boyfriends daughter, Emma (2 1/2 yrs), for a few months now. She has been extremely fussy and whinny for what seems to be no reason. (For example, she will scream and fuss for her cup when it is on the table at her finger tips and she could easily reach it on her own). We have tried putting her in a time-out chair when she is being 'naughty', after giving her warnings. It hasn't seemed to help much at all, she will just sit there and scream her lungs out! I thought that if we just let her get it out of her system, she would eventually calm down and be ready to talk about why she was in it in the first place, but when we even try talking calmly to her, she looks us straight in the face and screams "NO!" Once she is let down, she still acts out.
I called and talked to her mom today, and she is having all the same problems we are. So we are on the lookout for a discipline/rewards system that will help Emma be more positive, and help her with the extreme fussiness. We will need something that will be easy for both households to enforce, as Emma is here every Wednesday and every other weekend. I also have a 1 year old son that I would like to eventually add to the system once he's able to understand it.
If you kno of any systems, or have any tips to help us out, I would really appreciate it! I am just so worried about how this current behavior will develop in the future.
Thanks

I thought I only had to pay the insertion fee if the item sold... Or am I supposed to get charged every time I list/re-list something?
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoIt's time to say bye-bye to the bottle... But how?
My son just turned a year old, and we want to break him away from the bottle and formula. He just recently started using a sippy for water. Should we just stop giving him the bottle and formula all together, and replace it with milk in his sippy at his regular bottle times?
Thanks
9 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHow long do I cook a roast?
I want to cook it in the slow cooker, but I don't kno for how long. Is there a certain number of hours per pound? I think it a shoulder roast, around 3 pounds. I wanted to add some potatoes and carrots too, do I put everything together at the same time with some water? I'm trying to get into this whole cooking thing, and I'm realizing more and more everyday that I don't kno what I'm doing! My family appreciates any advice! Thanks!

9 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoIs there a difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip?
I just posted a question about replacing eggs with Mayo to make a cake, and I just went to look, and I only have Miracle Whip, is there a difference? Or will the Miracle Whip work the same as the Mayo?
Thanks!
8 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat can I replace eggs with?
Okay, it's my son's birthday today, and I just started making him a cake. But I don't have any eggs! I have a house full, and would rather not have to leave and run across town to the store if I don't have to. It's just a box cake and it calls for 3 eggs. I kno in the past I have made a homemade cake with mayo and no eggs, can I use that? If so, how much is equal to 3 eggs? I've also heard of using a can of coke... But I don't kno how much, or if I still need eggs.
I'm willing to try anything really, so I'll take any tips!
Thanks!
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhere to buy a birthday cake?
My son's first birthday is coming up, and I want to get him a really cool cake, but I don't kno where or how to go about it. What I want is a custom cake, not a walmart one.
Does anyone know where I can go to find a nice bakery?
I live in Winona, MN. I am also frequently in the Twin Cities, so anywhere between here or there would be fine.
Thanks for the help!

7 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoHow do I find a wholesaler? - Ebayer's help needed!?
How do you find a wholesaler to buy from? What I want to do is buy a product, then sell it on ebay or something for profit. I see all kinds of this on ebay. How do I do this? How do I know what products will make money?
Sorry for the ton of questions!
FYI: I don't have a whole lot of money to start with... I'm a single mom just looking for an extra income...
Thanks in advance for any helpful input!
Have a great day! :)
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoI've got a question about ebay?
Hi!
I'm wondering how some people on ebay get the things they sell? I've bought items from people who seem to have a ton of the same thing (ex: memory cards, or video games factory sealed). How do they come across the large quantity of the items?
I was thinking maybe they just had some kind of connection with a dealer, and they purchased overstock items. If this is so, how do you get started in something like that?
Thanks in advance for any input!
Have a great day!! :)

2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhat is the proper way to lift weights?
Me and my boyfriend (Eric) can't seem to settle this one on our own, so I'm turning to Y!A for some help.
Here's the story:
Eric has recently been lifting weights using a weight bar. Now, in his opinion, to build muscle faster he needs to lift as much weight as he can (regardless if he can only lift it four or five times at a time.) "Thus challenging myself" in his words.
On the other hand, I have been trying to tell him that it would be better to take a little weight off, lift that for a while, and slowly build up from there.
So, who's right?
