Modern day minstrel shows?????

I'm asking it here because P&S is full of wit and style.

Shows like "flavor of love" and "charm school?" are they just modern day minstril shows? Look at the entertainment angle here. Predominently minoity women proudley displaying

negetive stereo-types. Is this really any different from

"Sleep n' eat messes up"? Maybe we're not doing chicken and watermelon jokes anymore, but this stuff is pretty bad. Are these reality characters "setting back" their owns people hundreds of years?

And btw, if you dont know what a "minstrel show" is, either dont answer or you can look them up on wiki. Im not explaining what one is.

I think using dead Icons such as joe, kurt,sid and joey

to hock thier wares is absoluley awful. I get what they were going for, picking people that were at least popular when grunge was big and Doc Martens were EXTREAMLY popular.

and saying that thier style will always last, but it really makes me mad. As a wearer of Docs, I feel this was an awful move.
