  • Does it matter when you start taking birth control?

I missed the first week of pills. The medication info packet and a doctor told me to just start a new pack on Sunday. Why is this recommended instead of just continuing the same pack and using a back up or abstinence for a week? I know I don t technically have a period on birth control, but I d like the withdrawl bleeding to happen when it normally would. Isn t that the point of typically starting a new prescription the first day of your period or the first Sunday after? Maybe it doesn t matter? Just trying to understand better.

  • Any recommendations for a quality 5 gallon fish tank?

I d like to get a beta fish, a couple of african dwarf frogs, and maybe a couple of snails. I ve heard recommendations of 5 gallons for a beta and 1 gallon per dwarf frog, so would a 5 gallon tank be enough? I ve searched online for one at all the pet stores in my area (petco, petsmart, pet world...), amazon, and craigslist, but most seem to have bad reviews of poor quality, leaking, bad filters, etc making me hesitant to invest in one. Any recommendations of brands that you ve had success with?

  • As a teacher, how to approach Father s Day with two moms?

I work at a day care with infants and we recently made little art projects with them for Mother s Day. Thinking ahead to Father s Day, there is a set of twin baby boys with two moms, and we re not sure the best way to approach it. We of course want the kids to participate in any activity we do, but should it still be called a Father s Day gift or something else? Ideas?

  • How much is this Italian coin worth in US dollars/cents?

I came across a coin dated 1975 that looks exactly like this: http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1113.html

Does anyone know how much it's worth in US dollars/cents? Or any other info about it? I found a website that said it's worth a penny, but I think it's strange for 20 of anything to only be worth a penny.

  • How can I catch fruit flies with applesauce?

I know there are ways to use apple cider vinegar or wine, but will applesauce work? If I put some in a dish and cover it with plastic wrap with holes poked in it?

  • How long after wisdom tooth surgery do I need to be cautious of getting dry socket?

I had all four wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and I've actually had very little pain. I'm trying to be really careful about the way I eat, drink, and swallow though to avoid dry socket. How will I know when they're healed enough to just have pain but no worry of dry socket? And how will I know when it's safe to eat more than pudding- like foods?

  • How much gas money should I pay for carpooling?

I've been carpooling with two other girls for school (the same girl always drives the two of us) and over the semester it has saved me the cost of about 4 tanks of gas or a little over $200. Now since the semester has ended and we won't be carpooling anymore, how much gas money should I pay her? One third of $200 maybe?

I know that it's in rondo form: ABACA, but I'm having trouble identifying the different parts when listening to the music. Can anyone listen to the song and maybe tell me where each part starts/ends? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mVW8tgGY_w

  • Can you get a ticket for not leaving a building during a fire alarm?

I'm sure it varies from place to place, but I'm currently living in an apartment building filled with college kids (I am one) right off of a college campus. Today the building fire alarm went off, and since I was busy getting ready for class and didn't have time to wait outside in the snow in my pajamas for a false alarm, I didn't leave. Honestly, not many people did, if any. After about 25 minutes, the alarm was turned off and a man came around knocking on everyone's door telling us that we should have left, and that we can get a ticket for not doing so. I've never heard of that before, so does anyone know if it's true?

  • How do I delete a facebook account that hasn't been verified?

My family tried to create three facebook accounts for us in one day, but it looks like facebook doesn't allow this. When making the third account, it asked for a phone verification. We don't want to give a phone number, so I'd rather delete the account and try making it again in a day or two. Is there any way to do this, since I can't technically log in to get to the account? The email has already been connected since we got a verification email for it, but clicking the link only leads to another request for a phone number/identity verification.

  • What does "totus pupki (spelled wrong)" in Latin, mean in English?

What does "totus pupki" (in Latin I think) mean in English? I know that "pupki" is likely spelled wrong, but that's how the word sounds. I know someone who would say it after eating his favorite meal.

  • How will snow and cold weather affect headstones? And how can you protect it?

My grandfather's headstone was recently placed this summer. It's getting colder, and soon it'll start to snow. Possibly even covering the entire headstone for long periods of time. I don't remember what the headstone is made of, but I'd hate to see it damaged or worn it any way. Is there anything I can do to protect it? Is snow and cold weather even likely to hurt it?

  • What should I fill my advent calendar with?

I received a beautifully painted, wooden advent calendar a few years ago for Christmas. It's covered in doors of different sizes, and I'm trying to think of something to fill it with this season. Chocolates seem too overdone, and most of the cubbies seem too large for just one chocolate. This is for myself though, so it's hard to fill it with "surprises." Does anyone have any other ideas?

  • Why does my light bulb crackle or pop sometimes?

My bedroom is directly off the living room and kitchen, and at night, I leave the light on above the stove as a night light sort of. I don't notice it when I have the light is on during the day sometimes, but at night as I'm going to sleep, sometimes I hear it crackle or pop once or twice. Is this dangerous?

The light is an incandescent light bulb, and when first flipped on, it's dim, and it takes several minutes for it to brighten. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

  • How does a person become a service dog trainer?

By service dogs, I mean dogs that help those with health problems or who are disabled. For a person with no experience in dog training at all, what is involved in getting the credentials to become a service dog trainer, and how long does it take? Is an actual degree needed, or just a certification program /internship/experience?

  • Can someone give me the formula to use for this problem?

I think I can figure it out, I just don't know where to start. So if someone could at least give me a formula to use and help me get started I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

At one point, girl scouts in region C had sold 1500 boxes of cookies, and region D had sold 1200 boxes of cookies. If region D tries harder, they can sell 50 more boxes of cookies every day than region C. How long will it take for region D to catch up? If sales stop after 8 more days, can you tell how many total boxes each region sold?

  • Is it that bad to live at home and commute to school?

I spent my first two years of college at a school in the city where I live, however, it's only a 2-year school. I took a spring semester and the summer off, and am now attending a 4-year college (I actually have over 3 years to go for my degree), 45 minutes away from home, where I live in a tiny single apartment right outside the edge of campus, I know, I know, I've only given it a week- but I HATE it... Even though I can come home on weekends, I'm extremely homesick, and am seriously considering commuting next year when my lease is up. I've had people tell me to try not coming home every weekend, so that I'll miss it less, but that sounds horrible to me. Everyone seems to be pro-living on campus, because of school involvement, new friends, independence, but I'm honestly not that interested in the whole "college experience" thing. I wasn't really involved in college activities near my home, and although I don't have many friends, I don't feel lonely at all. I've been pretty happy living at home with the way things have been, My parents don't mind it and don't treat me like a kid, and I'm a good student with a 3.4 gpa. Of course I want to move out one day and have a family, but living at home while going to school and work, making and saving money, taking care of yourself in your parent's home can't be THAT bad can it? I can't see spending twice as much (or more) to live on campus and hate it. Maybe I'll get more used to it as time passes, but I can't help thinking I'll always be happier living primarily in this city, around my family. So what do you think? Is it really THAT bad?

  • Can I keep a betta fish in a five gallon tank?

I've never had fish before, and I'm thinking of getting a betta. I know bettas can survive in small spaces, but I want a fish that is as happy and healthy as possible, and it seems the more space, the better. Will a five gallon tank be big enough for a betta to thrive? I don't want to go too big, because I have limited space and money, but I don't want to sacrifice the quality of life for the fish either. This is the tank I'm planning on getting: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hawkeye-5-gal-Aquarium-K... What do you think?
