  • If you've changed your name, is it weird hearing the new name during sex?

Thinking of changing mine to something completely different, but I'm worried about losing intimacy with my partner.

  • Trying to remember a fiction novel where the cover has a jar with women's panties in it?

Trying to find a book I read some time ago. The plot has something to do with a woman going on a roadtrip with a bunch of mementos, or something. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

  • Does anyone else have flavored/scented memories?

Sometimes when I think back to a specific trip/vacation/event that was very special for me, I almost sense a sort of flavor or smell a scent while recalling the memory. It's not so much a food but a flavor or a feeling, but not an emotion.

I know this is really vague, but does anyone else know what I'm talking about? No trolls, please :)

  • It bothers me that my bf seems to only like me because I let him be himself. Should I be?

I'm not sure if I have the right to be bothered, because I haven't figured out exactly why it bothers me yet.

I asked my bf why he loves me, and he replied because I'm a really low-maintenance girlfriend who lets him play games, gets along with his family and friends, and I guess that I'm a 'chill girl'.

For some reason I'm not satisfied with his answer, maybe I'm looking for something romantic? Or maybe it's not even his answer that bothers me. I feel a little like he 'loves me' just because I don't not get along with anyone, I don't rock the boat, and I just let him do whatever he wants, but this doesn't say anything about anything in particular about why he likes me as an individual--couldn't anyone be this kind of ghostly girlfriend? I feel a bit pointless being here when these are his reasons for dating me.

This kind of answer came off selfishly to me since it's just about him, I guess. IMO love is also about dedicating your life to the other person's happiness as well, but I don't feel like I factor in to his definition of love? It's like there's nothing special and no particularly intimate reason for 'why me?', why stay with me over someone else? He doesn't seem to have a unique reason for loving me other than that I'm not in the way.

Maybe I'm just being ridiculous, but if anyone could give me some perspective on this it'd be appreciated (even though I know I can't explain the situation adequately through Yahoo! Answers and obviously this is all from my one-sided view...).

  • Why would NH3 be considered the reactant still for the Kc constant here? (see problem)?

    Ok, so I have a chem problem saying I have [NH3]initial of 1.00 M and [NH3]equilibrium of 0.875 M, with the rxn equation of N2(g) + 3H2(g) <--> 2NH3(g)

The question is, what is Kc?

The way I was thinking was that since the eqn goes both ways, potentially, NH3 is acting as the reactant here so I should calculate my Kc with the [NH3]^2 on the bottom, where reactants usually go, but my hw key says that I should be calculating it as a product by placing it over the concentrations of N2 and H2. Why is this?

The moles of NH3 decrease over time, so shouldn't this indicate a Kc of a really small exponent? For example, I got something^-4. However, my key switches it and therefore gets a Kc of nearly 2000, which seems like it would suggest that the rxn of N2 and H2 to NH3 goes practically to completion, which is not the case, obviously.

Why do I still treat NH3 as the product in the Kc equation?

  • How many mg of BaSO4 are dissolved in a 225ml sample of BaSO4(aq)? Ksp= 1.1 x 10^-10?

my book says the answer should be 0.55 mg BaSO4 but I'm not sure how they get to that.

    Thank you!

  • Help with calculus---volume of region revolving around y=-10?

Let R be the region in the first quadrant bounded by the x-axis, the y-axis, the curve y=1/x, the line y=5, and the line x=10.

The volume of the solid obtained by revolving R about the line x=12 is?

The volume of the solid obtained by revolving R about the line y=-10 is?

I've tried so many different ways of solving these, but somehow I'm not getting them right :( If someone could step by step show me I'd gladly give out 5 stars. I'd really appreciate the help, thank you

  • What kinds of Doctors deal the least with drug prescription/administration?

I'm beginning my college years and am interested in entering the medical field, but I'm not sure how I feel about drugs themselves, because it seems so many of them cause side-effects or long term problems that only make an illness worse.

I realize this is something I'll have to get over to some degree if I want to be a doctor, so I was wondering whether there are certain medical professions that deal more directly with problems rather than administering drugs as a first resort.

All I can think of are surgeons or doctors that use more 'natural' medicines. Any ideas? I'm not too familiar with occupations in the medical field so any advice is appreciated.

  • Find max and min values of f(x)=xsqrt(x-(x^2))?

I don't understand how to get the max value even though I can plainly see it when I graph it. My math book conveniently left out any restrictions so I can't check endpoints...

Here's my process, and I keep getting 1/2 and 0 as critical points, but that doesn't seem to be what they want which is (3/16)sqrt3 and 0

    f(x)=xsqrt(x-(x^2))

    f'(x)=x'(sqrt(x-(x^2)) + x(sqrt(x-(x^2))'

    =(sqrt(x-(x^2)) + x*1/2*(x-(x^2))^(-1/2)*(1-2x)

    =(sqrt(x-(x^2)) + (x(1-2x))/(2x(1-x))

and it just seems like my only options are 0 or 1/2 :/

    Please help if possible :)

    Thank you!

  • Should I tell my boyfriend about my depression?

Over the last couple years I've become seriously but privately depressed. I keep it to myself, for the most part, but by being depressed I've developed increased anxiety when it comes to dating and I occasionally fake a confident and calm attitude when I'm around my boyfriend. Sometimes my awkwardness and anxiety slips out and I'm so afraid he'll see that I'm worrying without cause about whether he likes me and stupid things like that. I wish I could let him see that I'm not this super confident person, but I'm equally scared that he'll think less of me or be disgusted that I'm so weak. I want to confide and be honest with him because I like him a lot, but on the other hand we've only been dating for 5 months and how I feel seems like an immense burden to put on someone who I only just met.

Should I just fake it (the happiness) until I make it? Should I tell him? I don't know who to talk to but I'm desperate for someone real to trust who won't back away from the me who isn't perfect and happy 100% of the time :(

I'd talk to my family, but we aren't at all close, and I'm afraid to worry my best friend with this too since she might guess I'm suicidal.

I really don't know what to do, any help is appreciated...thank you...

  • How do I make an iTunes library to organize my music?

I used to have an iTunes library, where iTunes reordered the music I had into a way that made my iTunes run smoothly, but I think I deleted it somehow so that now iTunes has to go directly to where I filed the songs. It's making it run very slowly even though I only have 6,000 songs :(

Any way I can fix this?

    Thanks

  • How to politely refuse a 2nd platonic date?

So I posted an ad online for people who wanted to go exploring nature and neat abandoned places and got a lot of responses.I decided to respond to one of them, a guy, and went to meet him (I took a friend along). But even though this guy seemed cool online, he seemed creepy and weird at our meeting and I definitely DO NOT want to go meet him again.

He wasn't weird enough to say "I can't meet you again because you...tried to shank me", it was just a feeling I had.

So how can I politely and tactfully tell this person that I would rather not meet him again? I'm trying to think of something that would be tasteful just in case he's not a creeper (I wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of a good person).

    Thanks all responders.

  • Can I force iTunes to load from my music folder instead of making an iTunes library?

  • Can I use 32bit iTunes with 64bit computer?

My old computer was a 32 bit vista and held my 12k songs just fine, but my new computer, with a LOT more harddrive and memory, is a 64bit. The iTunes on my new computer is constantly freezing with the same iTunes version (8.1) as the old one, only it's 64bit instead of 32.

What would happen if I reverted to 32bit?
