I hired a CPA so I did not have to worry about my taxes. This year I go back to him and find out that he double counted my mortgage interest and mistakenly got me a couple of thousand extra. He was very apologetic and did this years taxes for free but told me I have to amend last years taxes and pay it. Many accountants pay when they screw up. Is this a law or just a policy that some accountants have? Do I have any recourse or do I have to suck it up and pay it?
