I am a teacher, and parent. I welcome communication from other educators, and/or from other people who have Myasthenia Gravis. Please be patient on the turn-around for my answers. Sometimes, because of the MG, it takes me a while to get to all my emails!

  • Mice cured for neurological typical behaviors?

After reading this article, is anyone else on the autism spectrum outraged at their listing our strengths (e.g. good memory, logic, etc.) as "symptoms?"

    Check out this article...

  • NCLB as a smokescreen for politicians cutting budgets?

Anyone else think NCLB is the government's attempt to cut Education out of the Federal budget, making teachers take the rap so that the politicians don't have to?

  • Are you upset by miscategorized questions? Post SOLUTIONS here as a suggestion list to the Yahoo staff.?

I am someone who loves this kind of forum, but am interested in only a couple of topics. I am very tired of weeding through 20 q's unrelated to the topic to get to the couple that are about my interest.

I have made reports under the "abuse" link, and the Q's are still there months later. I have been posting messages about what the category means in each miscategorized question. I have sent a couple of feedback emails to Yahoo.

The Yahoo staff needs to become aware of how many serious participants are tired of this. I'm thinking the best way may be to have people send possible solutions. The "Tell us what you think" link is at the bottom of your page.

    Here are possibilities:

-If a Q is reported as miscategorized by 5 different people at level of 5 (or 6) or above, automatically delete. A Yahoo staffer need only get involved in the Q writer appeals.

-After writing a Q, an page comes up showing the person's Q, and prompting for review of Q with a definition of the topic.

  • Let's work together to make this a better forum!!!!?

I am calling on all people who give answers in particular fields, and who are tired of filtering through the sludge to get to something relating to the category they are browsing, to start answering the mis-categorized questions only with "This question does not belong in this category," even if you really do know a decent answer to it. Maybe if we start doing this, people will start paying attention to what they are doing when they ask their questions. After all, it costs 10 points to ask something.

  • Cellcept responsiveness for patients with antibody-negative myasthenia gravis; is it worth a trial?

My neurologist is suggesting Cellcept, even though I have antibody-negative myasthenia gravis (hereditary...my mother, grandmother, and a couple of great-aunts all have it). He says that there are hundreds of types of antibodies, and we only now how to test for a few, so it's worth a trial of Cellcept to see if my symptoms improve. Does anyone else with antibody negative myasthenia gravis out there have any success with Cellcept? I already take Mestinon.
