Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Let all who answer questions in subjects really work together to make this a better forum!?

I am calling on all people who give answers in particular fields, and who are tired of filtering through the sludge to get to something relating to the category they are browsing, to start answering the mis-categorized questions only with "This question does not belong in this category," even if you really do know a decent answer to it. Maybe if we start doing this, people will start paying attention to what they are doing when they ask their questions. After all, it costs 5 points to ask something.

Update:

I'm going to allow this to go to a vote for best answer, so more people read it and think about it.

Love it, ABC! You figured it out quick...yes, I'm posting this in multiple forums to make a point about mis-posting stuff, and also to pinpoint the attention of those with good knowledge backgrounds in these areas regarding the number of mis-categorizations.

The subgroup I've seen hit the worst, so far, in mis-categorization, that I am aware of, is "Special Education." Very few of the questions have anything to do with working with students with non-traditional learning needs.

"This question does not belong in this category,"

Is there a question here? And why is this categorized under "Education & Reference" and not Yahoo! Products > Yahoo! Answers? I'd be more inclined to follow this advice if it didn't violate so many Answers guidelines.

What I can't stand more than that is peope who double-post identical questions in different categories.

    Either way, AMEN!
