  • My son's having trouble getting to sleep...?

Parents or people with childcare experience only, please. For about 3 weeks now my 2 1/2 year old son has been having a lot of trouble getting to sleep at night. We have had the same bedtime routine for over a year now and nothing has changed. Still, all of a sudden, it's taking him 2-4 hours to get to sleep, crying the whole time. Crying it out doesn't work--it never has. He'll cry, quite literally, for HOURS if I let him. I've tried adjusting his nap schedule-shortening, lengthening, even eliminating the nap- no luck. None of my old tricks are working.

Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a solution? He's never had a sleeping problem like this before. I need some suggestions on what to do, please! I've been stern, nice, ignored him completely, and everything in between. Nothing I've thought of has worked.

  • What's the best way to wean a child off the pacifier?

We just weaned our son off the bottle. We're going to give him a little time, and then start working on the pacifier. Do you have a method that worked for you? We don't want to just take it from him to start, so something gradual would be best. Only parents please.
