Is this rude if I don't say hello?
Everytime my wife has company, either her one girlfriend or her side of the family, I usually go upstairs, or if I am in my man room I stay in there without saying hello. Now her girl friend is our neighbor, and her family lives literally 10 min away, so them coming over isn't a special occasion.
Is this rude to do?
11 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoIs 2-3 drinks a month/sitting excessive in Law enforcement hiring?
I took my oral psych board for California Highway Patrol, and one of the questions that I was asked was how many drinks do I consume in the last 12 months. I said that if I had to put a number on it I would say about 1 time a month. And when I do its 2-3 drinks. Is that something that may disqualify me?. I don't have any drinking incidents (i.e. drunk driving, fights, jackass behavior). I have read (in forums) cases where people were disqualified for drinking less than 10 times a year. It seems that 2-3 drinks once a month is innocent. I mean there are people that drink wine everyday. Any insight? And please serious responses from those in law enforcement or oral psych "survivors"...Even those with sensible knowledge can help. Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoDo you think women can be both really attractive and successful?
Im looking for examples of women who are both really attractive and really successful, in my search i have yet to see any. Sure attractiveness is a matter of opinion, but everyone knows an attractive women when they see one. This isnt meant to be sexist, just merely something thats has perplexed me. So name a woman who is attractive (insert famous beauty) and successful (like bill gates type money/success/smarts). Good luck in your quest.

2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoMy puppy is not eating!?
We just bought a lil pup 2 days ago, and the first day she ate a bit, but now she wont at all. We took her to the vet today, and they said he looks fine, but to watch her. Now the pup has runny poop, and wont eat at all. Should i be concerned about Parvo or disinterest (sp)? And besides taking her back to the vet (which we plan to do), what things can we do to get her eating again?
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoSoundbar or Surround Sound "in a box"?
I have a 10 x 10 room that I would like to convert into a "man cave". My wife isnt feeling the idea of setting up another room with expensive surround sound equipment. So the question I have is do I get a soundbar to hang on the wall with my 42 inch LCD, or do I buy a surround sound "in a box" set to put in there. I will be playing video games, and watching football in there mostly, so my movie experience sound is saved for the living room. Which is better to buy? Price range I am working with is $300-$500 bucks, may be able to squeeze more money if I needed to.
3 AnswersHome Theater1 decade agoIs my car XM ready or not?
I recently bought a used Lexus IS 250, and the dealer told me that the car was xm ready. He also said that Lexus usually comes xm ready if there is a shark fin (antennae) on the back of the car. However, when I push the AM-SAT button, nothing happens. I know that you are suppose to look for channel 1 or 0, and grab the 8 digit serial from the screen, but it does not show up. So do I have to take it into the lexus dealer to get additional equipment, or are there other steps I am missing out. Also, can XM find my signal if I provide them with my VIN#? Thanks
1 AnswerCar Audio1 decade agoDoes a top secret clearance help the CHP background investigation go faster or smoother?
I am currently in the Navy and getting ready to transition to civilian life pretty soon. I just recently applied for CHP, and I am awaiting a confirmation email that will let me know if I am accepted to take the test. I read on the CHP website that one of the steps during the hiring process was a background investigation. Having a top secret clearance, I went through an extensive background investigation already. Now does having a top secret clearance help the background investigation process (i.e. shorten it). Or do I have to go through the whole process again?

7 AnswersRadio1 decade agoTrying to get rid of flies!!!!!!?
I have a fly infestation around my pups pin, and I cant seem to get rid of them. I have went to the pet store and bought "Fly away" spray, but that doesnt seem to work. Fly strips isnt an option because that doesnt get rid of them, just leaves me with a bunch of dead flies on tape. So if anyone knows a good remedy for this situation would help me out greatly!

3 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoAm I immature or is she un-reasonable?
I want to buy some new wheels for my car, and planned on doing it with some extra cash that I was going to get from the per diem (cash paid daily for expenses) that I was getting from a business trip. But my wife thinks that I shouldnt spend that money because we have a kid on the way and we should prepare for that. Her argument is that once she goes on baby leave we wont have the same comfy income that we have now for a few months, so saving every penny counts. My argument is the per diem that I am saving is coming from my sacrifice of not using it for whats its for, and thats eating 3 times a day for a month. So from my perspective, I should be able to spend that money for my choosing. Now spending that money would not put us in a financial bind because its not calculated in our monthly saving plan. But my wife feels that any extra money that comes in regardless if I sacrifice or not should go to preparing for the lil one. What do you guys and gals in cyber space think? Am I selfish?
8 AnswersMarriage & Divorce2 decades agoShould I get out of the Navy or Stay in?
I am coming up on 7 years in the Navy, and its time for the big fork in the road, "should I stay or should I go?". My wife is currently pregnant with our first child which is due in Oct. Part of me wants to get out and go gov contracting, but the other side of me wants to finish my 13 and get my retirement pay/benefits. The upside to getting out is spending time with my wife and newborn (being there for the little moments). The downside to getting out is the unceartainty of job stability (thereby struggling to support the fam). Now the upside to staying in is the benefits for me and my fam, and retirement at an early age (41). The downside to staying in would be being away from my family 6 months at a time. So from looking at this situation which move is the right move? Advice is greatly appreciated. Side note, regardless of your view of Bush and the war please dont respond with negativity, you're entitled to your opinions that I fight for, but this is about me not Bush and the war.
