Male, 36, single and employed. Living in the best city in the best country in the world, Sydney, Australia.

  • Cost of a business tax return - Sydney Australia.?

I'm in full time employment but an a consultant on the side, having my own pty ltd company. I've been having my personal and business tax returns done by a 'city firm' for years. Last financial year I was thinking of finishing my company, so perhaps had 2 sales, in any event, not much work was required by the accountant. I complete my own BAS statements.

For doing my personal tax and business tax, the firm hit me with a $2850 (ex gst) bill. The only thing they did during that year outside my visit to get my tax done was check 2 BAS statements, each would have taken minutes to do.

Have I been charged too much? How much is a reasonable amount for a city firm?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Name of an Australian Legal/Justice Department with a flower as an emblem?

This isn't specifically law enforcement, but If anyone knows the name of a Legal or Justice Department with a flower as an emblem, possibly but not necessarily white in colour, with an office in Sydney I would be most thankful.

I know the rose is the symbol of intelligence sevices, but that is not the answer I am seeking. Thank you in advance.

  • Asking permission from the father to marry his 30yo very independent daughter?

If you intend to marry a very independent woman in her early 30's, and you're an old fashioned guy in his late 30's, is it appropriate to:

    1. Ask the father for permission to marry his daughter

    2. Considering she is very independent, ask the father for his blessing

    3. Don't ask the father first, just propose.

Women, would be you offended if your father was asked before your man proposed to you.
