Do I need title insurance if I have a title search?
I'm buying a small townhouse and paying for it cash. I'm going to have a title search but do I really need title Insurance? I've heard conflicting advice from two attorneys as to whether or not I should buy title Insurance. Of course, the one who is doing the closing says I should buy the title insurance.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoExplain child support?
If an ex-spouse pays child support, does that mean he does not ever have to pay for things like clothes, school lunches and school supplies, even though he has the children 50% of the time through the child custody agreement. He refuses to pay for any of these things. For example, on school days he is responsible for the children, he doesn't feed them breakfast or send them lunch. He expects the wife to pay for those days out of the child support.

3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoShould I buy a Core i5 or wait for Sandy Bridge?
I'm in the market for a new notebook. Can anyone tell me the main differences between a Core i5 and Sandy Bridge processor.
Should I go with a Core i3 or i5? With Sandy Bridge on the horizon, there seems to be a lot of very good deals on laptops right now. Or should I wait until Intel sorts out it's current problems and get a notebook with Sandy Bridge in a few weeks?
A top priority is that my laptop doesn't run hot and I don't want to buy a cooling gizmo. If a slightly slower processor runs cooler, I'd be willing to give up some processing power.
Whatever newer processor I get, I assume it will be faster than the notebook I have now (Core duo 2 T5250 @ 1.50 GH), 32 bit).
My main processing needs are for basic photo editing (Adobe CS3), word processing, net-surfing and working online on a website .
Thank you.

6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhy buy bonds when CD rates are about the same.?
I just could never understand the reasons brokers say to buy bonds. Aren't CDs just as good and less risky? I've never bought a bond, but instead by CDs and layer them so they mature at different times. Am I missing something?

What does "non-cumulative" mean? Also, what the difference between a "floating rate non-cumulative preferred stock" and a "non-cumulative preferred stock?"
2 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoWhich is better to own: bonds or preferred stocks when interest rates are rising?
I own preferred stock in good, solid companies. Since interest rates have started going up the stock value has started to go down slightly. I am wondering if preferred stocks genenearlly go down as interest rates go up and if it is better to buy bonds (I've never owned bonds before).
