  • What other fashions should be banned?

Now that baggy pants are being banned in some towns, probably because some people argue that it is "gangsta" or some cultural thing that threatens them...What other fashions should be banned and why?

    Your suggestions??

I think plaid pants because when I see them I get a sudden urge to golf and talk about silly business stuff...

  • Is "thought process" redundant?

I have increasingly been hearing people refer to their "thought process." Should I be getting annoyed as much as I am?

It seem like a different way of saying "reasoning" or just "thoughts." I first started hearing it in the world of sports and thought it was just dumb jocks. But now everyone, even "smart" people at work, is using the term. It is almost like the increase in the use of "most definitely."

  • Has the term "PC" become "Non-PC"?

I see/hear many people using the term "PC" negatively (or should I say putting down things that are PC) is the term now automatically put a negative connotation in your head?

  • What words have taken ona negative meaning due to how they are used?

As I listen to conversation and read answers and blogs, it seems there are certain words out there that people use emotionally to insult others. These words have meanings of their own, but when used in a certain context take on a negative meaning, thus inciting, the ever so hated, political correctedness.

One example is the word "ignorant." One can not use it without offending the person in which it is used. The fact that many people have used it and continue to use it as a synomyn for "stupidity," people have a hard time using correctly and without intention for name-calling. Other words that come to mind: Liberal, Conservative, Religious, Atheist, and other words or labels. I believe these words have been and continue to be used outside their meaning, as insults, that they may be considered impolite words in the future.

  • Best way to learn Lebanese Arabic???

I would really like to learn the Lebanese dialect of Arabic. I have not found any good CDs/DVDs/MP3s that concentrate on the Lebanese dialect. Most of the ones I find concentrat on Gulf and/or Egypt dialects. Any suggestions?

  • Venezuela travel tips...?

I have read a lot about the conditions for travelling in Venezuela as being dangerous. How safe is it, in and around Caracas? Also, are there airlines to get to Caracas from other South American countries that are reasonable? It looks like that most flights go through Miami.

  • Why do we “need” an NCAA-Division I Football Playoff?

I hope to get some well thought out answers dealing with philosophy of the need and not just because your team deserves a shot.

I don’t think other sports with playoff systems crown a champion but don’t really crown “the best” team. Often the team that wins the playoffs, but many times the best team doesn’t.

We are at that time of the year where people are going crazy because NCAA Football needs a playoff to crown the champion. I don’t really think it needs it. Are we just so use to having a playoff system in other sports that we have a hard time dealing with the concept of a sport so widely followed doesn’t have one?
