Hi guys! I'm doing a AP Biology lab right now and everyone in my group is stumped. We recently did a lab and we crossed fruit flies and examined mutations. The mutations we saw were sepia eyes (sex linked) and vestigial wings (autosomal recessive). Our P generation is Xse+Xse+ (wild eyed female) and XseY (sepia eyed male), and the F1 would all have wild eyes too (Xse+Xse+ or Xse+Y). By drawing out a F2 cross, one would get Xse+Xse+, Xse+Xse, Xse+Y, and XseY (wild eyed females, wild eyed males, and sepia eyed males). After doing our experiment, we got all three predicted phenotypes, HOWEVER, SEPIA EYED FEMALES ALSO SHOWED UP. Now this wasn't just one or two of those, but a lot of them did. Is there an explanation for this? Is it possible that some mutation occurred? I know it's possible for other phenotypes or mutations to be created that a punnet square wouldn't predict, but a lot of sepia eyed females showed up. Is it maybe that our P generation is wrong (P generation must have produced all red eyed males and females to make up the F1).

i'm studying them in my science class, however the textbook is out of date and all the sites i've looked up give me various, different answers.

does anyone know a not too complicated way to explain how they work?

I got 3 splotches of water on my iPod, and when I realized I wiped it off. I turned it on and it still played music, but the background lighting was like dark then bright then dark..etc., and turned off and on even after it passed the amount of seconds I set it to light up. My friend told me to charge it (-___- i know. bad move), and after it got charged I tried shutting it down. It shut down, but then like 2 seconds later the "Charged" screen came up as if it was still plugged in the computer.

ANYONE know what's going on, and what should i do? I've looked it up and a lot of people say to shut it down and let it dry or shut it down and put it in a container of uncooked rice (takes out the moisture), but the thing is...it won't shut down. I've tried resetting it. Does anyone know what should I do?

I have really thick and sometimes busy hair that's about 6 inches below my shoulders. I want to get a layered cut before school starts, but I just can't decide how should it look. My face is sorta round, and I want something new.

My violin teacher had given me a sheet of all the melodic minor scales, but last night I threw them out by accident with a pile of old notes that I didn't need. This morning when I looked back into the trash it was already gone. Can anyone tell me the fingerings for the D,E,C, and F melodic minor scales for the violin? Or give me a link? I've looked at several, but they didn't help me. One link for the G minor went up to the G on the D string, but my teacher wants me to go up to the G on the E string.

This summer I wanted to take a SAT class, but it turned out everyone in it was a high schooler...but I'll only be in eighth grade in September -___- Yeah. But i want to continue it anyway.

So we were given a pretest to do for Math...out of 25 qts i only got 5 right >.< So, I took some notes and I'm confused about HOW TO FACTOR and how to do the QUADRATIC FORMULA. I can't ask my parents cause they grew up in China..and they dk the english terms and a better way to explain it. Can anyone help?

I'm 5 ft and 2-4 inches and i weigh 127 lbs. some BMI calculators say im fine but others say im in danger of becoming overweight. I try to exercise a lot but i havent as much as when i was in elementry school cuz back then all my friends would gather and we would play and stuff. now its the hw and stuff...so its not that often. next year i wanan do cross country, so ive been training to exercise more often. i went down from 135 lbs to 127. however, throughout the course of these 2 months..ive been losing weight but gaining fat o.O like not on hips or thighs or tummy..but on my fingers, palms, and wrists??? ive also developed small stretch marks on them too o.o. wuts going on? am i excerising wrong? any tips? any advice on how to train for cross country? (my neighborhood is made of hillls -.- steep too...)

My french class is having "Fun Friday" and next week on the 23rd I am responsible in bringing in a french dish. The dish has to be able to serve 23 people and cannot contain raw meat or eggs. If we make mousse we cant use real eggs...those egg subs that u get in the carton. Any ideas? Recipes? Please don't suggest anything like croque madame or monsieur. Make sure its simple since im suppose the cook it (im 13) xP Thx^^

Well, this year in my English class, we have been writing poetry and putting them together in a book for a project. Some of us have themes, yet others dont. My poem is based on life...like the obstacles we come across and teh emotions we battle. Except theres a problem obviously xD. I cannot think of a title. My teacher used some past examples like "Window to my Soul". It sounds a bit cheesey but it worked wonderfully...

So i need help thinking of an inspirational one.

I'm a teen girl that just hit puberty, and lately my breasts have been itchy. It happened in the summer too. What's wrong?

I've been taking French since I've been in 3rd grade. I like it, but I have some trouble with the grammar.

Now that I'm in 7th grade, next year I have my final opportunity to switch languages. I'm thinking either FRENCH or LATIN.

I want to pursue a career in the medical industry (lots of the words use latin), but i also love french. My older friends say that Latin is what I should take. However, one of my classmates say that the current teacher isn't that great. They say that in Latin, all you do is read literature and learn Roman history.

I cant make my mind!! What do you think? Latin or French?
