  • How much to replace splash shield that came loose, hit my front tire, and broke off after repeated contact?

  • What part of the car did I damage when I ran over chunks of ice with my car?

I ran over chunks of ice. I heard a scraping noise. There is what appears to be some sort of flexible foam covering hanging from piping underneath my mazda 6 on the front passenger side. Also, on the front driver's side underneath the car by the front tire, the plastic underneath that is attached to the front bumper cover and screwed in, has broken off and is dangling. That piece is making a flapping noise when I drive above 50 mph. Any idea what these parts are and what the repair costs are? Thanks.

  • Is it normal to have a follow up appointment after an echocardiogram?

I had an echocardiogram done the other day. The tech mentioned that everything appeared to look fine, but a doc had to review the results. However, now that the doc reviewed the results, his assistant called me to make a follow up appointment (which is a week and half away). She would not tell me anything over the phone. Obviously this phone call is stressing me out. Is this normal?

  • Why did my periodontist not give me antibiotics after scaling and root planing?

I had scaling and root planing done last month on one quadrant of my mouth. I'm 28 years old and have always brushed twice a day, although I had slacked until now on flossing daily. I had developed periodontal pockets of 4mm and 5mm. i am going back to have next quadrant done, but i am starting to have an occasional dull pain in my gum underneath my gumline by a tooth where I had the scaling and root planing done. Should I have received a special rinse or antiobiotic after the procedure?

  • Can early periodontitis be completely halted and can my gums return to health?

I was recently diagnosed with early periodontitis. My whole life my gums and teeth have been normal and healthy. Then last year i had a family emergency and began slacking a little on my oral hygiene, but still brushed every day, just no flossing. I am back to brushing twice daily and flossing once daily. I am having root planing and scaling done. I know the slight gum loss i've had can't be reversed, but can i completely eradicate the gum disease and stop further progression and gum and bone loss by maintaining good oral hygiene,

  • How do you use a Sonicare toothbrush behind the front lower teeth?

I recently switched to Sonicare and I'm having trouble using this thing. I seem to be irritating the gums behind my lower front teeth. I brush for three minutes and angle the brush 45 degrees on all my teeth except the back of the lower front which I can't hit at the right angle.

  • Has anyone ever injured their gums and caused recession with an electric toothbrush?

I bought the Oral-B triumph and all of a sudden experienced irritation at my lower front teeth, and gum recession. I switched to Sonicare and it seems gentler and I haven't had any problems. Anyone else have a similar problem with electric toothbrushes?

  • How much does gum grafting with your own gum tissue cost and gum grafting with alloderm cost?

I am thinking about having gum grafting done to plump up areas of my gums I eroded from brushing too hard. I want to know how much the procedure costs. Is the cost per tooth or per quad? Also, how expensive is it to use alloderm tissue, which is not my own.

  • Does scaling and root planing always result in lower gumlines, leaving the gums healthy but unaesthetic?

I am having the procedure done by a periodontist next month. My smile looks fine now, but he says I have 4-5mm pockets that need to be addressed through a deep clean. I have read that after scaling and root planing, the pockets close up, which is good, but teeth appear longer.
