  • Having a really bad headache right now...?

I've had this headache now since 2:00pm (its now 5:15pm)

I took 3 advils and laid down for a bit then took a cool bath.

I'm sick of having a headache but the worst is not knowing when I'm going to get one.

The headache is in my forehead, from the middle out to the temples. I'm in pain and I'm annoyed.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Has anyone ever died donating blood?

I attempted to give blood this past Saturday. My pulse was over 100 which apparently is the upper cutoff for donating. This is NOT stated on the Red Cross website nor on any paperwork that was filled out or read. Needless to say, I asked the "technician" why I couldn't donate (my pulse was 108...give me a break, I was nervous and she was some cranky b*tch which did not help) and her reply was that...

"Once your pulse goes over 100, your heart is pumping very fast and if we take blood out of your body you can go into cardiac arrest."

    She also stated...

"Your normal pulse rate should be 60."

I'm posing this question to everyone. Can you die from donating blood if your pulse is over 100? I am a HEALTHY and ACTIVE 22 year-old woman and also an EMT. Whats the deal? Any help would be appreciationed. I'm thinking she was just full of crap and blowing smoke up my skirt! Thank you!!
