1 AnswerAdd-ons1 decade agopartitioning and dual os?
I already had XP installed on my netbook, but I decided to install Fedora 13 also to dual os. When I installed Fedora, I partitioned my 160 gb hard drive into a 130 gb part for XP and a 30 gb part for Fedora. I am running low on my partition for XP (which I use primarily), and I want to remove the Fedora partition to clear up space. How do I delete the Fedora partition and combine the resulting unpartitioned space with the XP partition?
Thanks.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agothe sum of a Fibonacci sequence?
U0 = 2, U1 = 1, Un+1 = Un + Un-1 for n ≥ 1
Prove that
∞
∑ Un/10^(n+1) = 19/89
n=0
I can do this proof if I know how to change the recursive series Un (a general fibonacci series) to a geometric series.
I was told that A*p^n + B*q^n, where p = (1+sqrt(5))/2 and q is its conjugate, is equivalent to Un. I evaluated the series and it works.
Where did this fibonacci to geometric conversion come from? is there a proof for it? I don't understand it at all. Can anyone explain?
Thanks.

Let Un be the sequence of integers defined by the following recursion formula.
U0 = 2, U1 = 1, Un+1 = Un + Un-1 for n ≥ 1
Prove that

∑ Un/10n+1 = 19/89
n=0
I've been spending hours on this problem. Can anyone help?

1 AnswerHistory1 decade agoWhat can I do to perform better on standardized testing?
I am currently a junior in high school. I have taken the PSAT, SAT, and a couple AP tests. I spent a lot of time preparing for these tests, but I can never seem to get the result I want. My PSAT and SAT scores were below 1600, which is just unacceptable for me. I studied extremely hard for the statistics AP test, but I still didn't get a 5, while some of my friends who didn't study got a 5.
I know I am a pretty smart guy. In school I perform very well. I am 3rd of 529 in my class. I can never seem to do well on these tests, but I try harder than anyone. Do you know any tips to help me out with this problem? These tests are very important for college admission, and I'm trying to get into a prestigious, top school. Having low test grades won't help me out with that.
Thanks for any help.
2 AnswersStandards & Testing1 decade agoHigh School Improv Club?
I am trying to start an Improv Club at my high school. I'm a very big fan of the art of improvisational comedy and I'm sure many others share this appreciation.
My school requires all of its extracurricular clubs to incorporate some form of education, learning, and enrichment within the activities we do. What are some activities my improv club can do in order to meet this requirement? I believe that improv overall is enriching. It enables students to gain confidence while performing and it exercises our skills of thinking on our feet. What are some games/activites we can do as a group? Thanks!

I live in Indiana, and I have a learner's permit. Do I need to be insured to the car I am driving in order to drive it? Hypothetically, If I get into a car accident while driving with a parent, will insurance take care of the cost of the damages even if I myself are not insured to the car, or will my parent have to pay for it straight up?

Let A, B, C, and D be points of a plane. Let P be the disk for which AB is a diameter, and Q the disk for which CD is a diameter. Assume that A,B do not belong to Q and C,D do not belong to P. Prove that segments AB and CD are disjoint.
I believe the term Disjoint refers to two sets that have no element in common. How exactly can you prove this is true?
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoProblems with System Restore on Windows XP Pro?
Usually, my computer makes at least one daily system restore point, but for the past week, I realized it has not. I do need to use system restore because the machine has been running very slow. I couldn't find any restoration points because the machine hasn't been making any. I pressed the button to view restoration points from last month, but it won't let me view them. Anyone knows why this is happening and how i can fix it?
