I love my family (this includes my Siberian Husky, two bunnies and fishes) and friends. I like to read, watch romantic/action movies and learn about "stuff" in general. I enjoy answering questions here on Yahoo! Answers and reading others' answers too. In a way, I feel like I'm a junior version of Martha Stewart - I try to be a D.I.Y'er, love to cook, crafts, garden and much more. I am currently working on my degree in Fine Art and minoring in Health Education. Although, I've worked in the legal field for many years & work as a Massage Therapist on the weekends... I'd like to share my knowledge & appreciation with others. Hence, I want to become an Art/Health teacher in a Jr. High School one day. Also, I have a goal of opening up my own day spa. I believe in God and I am proud to be an American! I am a vegetarian for health reasons and love Thai food. If you want to know more visit my 360.
I need a better dog shampoo for my Siberian Husky. Earthbath's Mango Tango isn't working anymore, suggestions?
Dog Owners, I'm in search of a better shampoo for my dog (Siberian Husky). I've been using Earthbath's Mango Tango & so does his groomer. However, he smells like perming solution or dog fart after a bath (no joke). He doesn't have sensitive skin as far as I know. I'm guessing it might be a chemical in the shampoo that causes his fur to smell funny (like how perfume scents vary on individuals). I've read that human shampoo is harsh, although I did use baby shampoo on him when he was a pup. Any suggestions?

3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoDo I need the prime the walls before I begin painting?
I've repainted walls before, but I need some advice about the latest project I'm about to undertake. This is for my living room, 3 of the walls are painted a very light pale yellow (flat) and 1 wall is a dark forest green color (flat) as well. I am planning on repainting the room to a light grey color. If you want to look at the new shade go to www.glidden.com and look up fossil grey (30yy 56/060). I know that I will have to prime the green wall, but do I have apply primer to the yellow walls too? I would like to start this project soon, so any advice would be appreciated.
8 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoCan you apply Feng Shui principles as a combination: in individual rooms AND to a building @ the same time?
I've recently become interested in Feng Shui 4 my home. I just moved into a house & would like 2 apply Feng Shui principles 2 it. I've been reading about the placements of objects/colors in certain areas (directions/bagua) of the home in individual rooms OR throughout a bldg for better flow of chi. I want 2 know if I could do this as a combo - move things around in an individual rm AS WELL as 4 the house in general. If so, does this confirm that each rm has its own N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W & N directions? (I already understand the 5 elements 4 each direction). Will the placement of objects in a certain rm defeat the purpose of placement of objects in the bldg? Such as something against an E wall & a neighboring SE wall.
I've glanced thru books & visited various websites 4 info. I am hoping someone who is readily familiar w/Feng Shui can give me some advice, rather than directing me to a website or such. Any other additional relevant info would be appreciated (via email).
Thx
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoAre there any regulations/permits required for a bake sale in Santa Clara, CA?
The dance group that I instruct, would like to host a bake sale to make money for new costumes. Are there any legal requirements that must be considered before selling baked goods?
(Aside from baking and money handling, overall , could this be comparable to simply selling lemonade on the corner as children do or is there more to it [i.e. permits, laws, etc.]?)
All answers are welcome, but I'm hoping I can get input from those in Santa Clara, CA. Thanks!

7 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoWhat is the BEST way to regrow or transplant a Canna Tropicana plant?
I am in the process of moving and last year I planted a Canna Tropicana plant in the ground. I really love the way it has grown and bloomed. I want to know if it is possible (its survival) to bring it with me to my new residence. It has grown from 2ft to 6ft in the last year. Uprooting and replanting seems the most logical method for transplanting, but will it be successful once replanted?

I also tried a hacksaw... it took forever just to get through a small piece less than 2 cm.
1 AnswerMusic1 decade agopsychologist vs. psychiatrist - male or female provider?
lately, i have been under A LOT of stress. i do have some issues from the past that i feel has cause post traumatic stress disorder. anyway, i feel like it has affected me one way or another and i've been told by my primary care physician years ago that i should talk to someone, since it is the root of my anxiety attacks, etc.
i have never "talked" to a professional before, and have only vented with friends or close family members. i am at the point where i would like to see if talking to a professional can help.
i know the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist, but i am just wondering...those of you who have done this before what makes a better experience:
a 29 yr old female talking to a male or female psychologist or psychiatrist?
7 AnswersMental Health1 decade agocan you name this (children's) movie...?
this boggles my mind from time to time after watch movies like goonies, adventures in babysitting and the never ending story.
there was this movie back in the late 80's/early 90's the cast was primarly kids (elementary school age), they had a treehouse, there was a "scary german guy" who lived in a dark house, frankenstein "franky" was a friend to the little girl (who was also the little sister of one of the other characters), the kids made smores in the backyard and near the end of the movie there was a whirlwind and franky was sucked into the sky.

9 AnswersMovies1 decade agoA question for any Health/Sex Education teachers out there...?
I am pursuing a degree in Health Education. My goal is to become a Health/Sex Ed teacher in a Jr. High School. If you are a teacher who teaches this combined subject, did you study the sexual topic within your "Health" studies/classes? Or did you have to take a class like Human Sexuality as an elective?
I am in the process of registering for classes and I can't get ahold of the advisor for the Health Edu. program. I can easily add Human Sexuality to my schedule, but I have no idea if it will be taught along the subject of "health". What was your experience?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
7 AnswersTeaching1 decade agoWhat is the best way to clean/disinfect a concrete area where your dog defecates and urinates?
I don't have a "lawn" area in my backyard where my dog can do his business. However, he has made one area (of my concreted backyard) his bathroom. I clean it on a daily basis. First, scooping up the poop with a pooper scooper and then pouring some bleach on the affected areas then hosing it down with water. I use bleach so it can kill the germs, especially to kill off the smell.
I am sure it is affecting whatevers "downstream". Do you have any suggestions to avoid contaminating the freshwater runoff? I've used simple green before, and I know that is non-toxic... but the "wet dog/poop" smell still remained. Bleach does the job for me.
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow long should you wait to resume intercourse after a pap smear?
I have always waited at least a week. I am curious to know if anyone's Dr. has recommended a "waiting time"? I figure after the scrapping and the curretage (sp.) of the opening of the cervix... it's somewhat similar to a scratch that needs to heal. Any thoughts?
10 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agowhat kind of fish would be compatible with a 5" pleco in a 10 gallon tank?
i recently had two african cichlids in there. one was very territorial (kinda looked like a EBJD), i'm guessing he killed the other cichlid. then this wknd, my boyfriend unplugged the surge strip (thinking of conserving energy and forgot that we switched the aquarium plug to that strip!!!) connected to the tank and the 2nd cichlid passed, but the pleco survive (yay!). i would like to add one or two more fish in the tank if possible... any suggestions? (and yes, i am plugging the aquarium into a separate outlet)
