I'm about to buy a surround sound system, but first, I have some questions.

1. Is there any way to have surround sound on a Macbook? (I'm assuming the the system uses multiple audio connection, and that the answer to my question is a resounding 'no')

2. If I connect the surround sound system to my TV, does it hook up to the TV, or to my DVD player?

3. Will I get surround sound while watching TV shows? Video games? What about DVD's? What about...digital movies? (bought on iTunes, for example)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help clear this up for me.

I've seen some videos that have an animation automatically paired up with whatever the music's doing in the background, and I'd like to either invent or use one of them for myself.

I just transferred my SIM card into a friend's iPhone 4, and it says that no SIM card is installed. How do I get it to work?

For the record, my sim card is a T-mobile SIM card that worked just fine in my old phone (which was an iPhone 4S).

I'm applying for pharmacy schools at the moment, and several of the schools have prerequisite classes (such as Intro to Computer Science, General Psychology, and Calculus II---things that a degree in Biology doesn't require) and I was wondering if I should apply to these schools anyways, even though I don't meet all of their class requirements.

BUT...the voltage above the "Made in China" clearly states "12v=16,5A", and in this article below, it says that those numbers correspond to either Xenon/Zephyr (203w).

Help me, please! Which power brick/adapter do I need to buy?

I'm considering buying an Xbox 360 or PS3 (which would be my first gaming console to ever own), and since I only have my computer set up at this time, I was wondering if it's possible to connect the computer monitor to the console somehow, and just use it as a TV replacement.

Is that possible? If so, what would I need to do?

Is there a way to require my computer to enter a password before opening a browser or using Internet Explorer?

I know I could restrict internet access using a password-enabled parental software, but I don't want my internet to be filtered at all...I just want the web to be unusable without knowing a password.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to get a picture (a background for a page) to fade out progressively towards the bottom.

In other words...at the top, the image is 100%, and by the very end, it needs to be 0%. (completely transparent)

I know I've done this before, but I forget how to---5 points to the person who can best help me figure it out!

I've got a Myspace banner that looks really cool on my page right now, but there's one teeny tiny problem with it...if I make my browser smaller, it's no longer centered.

I need to make (or have made for me) a banner for my band, but I'm not sure how to make that happen.

I have a logo already...but I'd like the banner to be animated, and pan across the image, and then have the band name pop up in front of it.

But those details can be worked out later, when I can experiment with it myself...what program do I need to do what I just described? And how hard is it to do?

I've trying to transfer my contacts from Microsoft Outlook onto my Mac, but so far I haven't had any luck, even though I've tried several of the "export" file type options on my Outlook.

How am I supposed to transfer them?

Btw...I don't have a PC emulator on my Mac, in case any of you have an answer that requires one.

If someone like me wants to design a page, and knows a little bit (but not a whole lot) about HTML and code like that, what's the best way to create a Myspace layout?

And is it possible to create a website page using iWeb or Dreamweaver, publish the page online, and then paste the HTML source code from that into Myspace? Or would that not work?

The question says it all...but to detail even further, I'm trying to change the Myspace icon that's displayed in the tab where I have that website open to something else...to another icon.
